Leonard wasn't ancient he was incompetent flash in the pan, overrprotected brat and media darling that fell apart the first time someone made things complicated for him.

Moreover, Duran had over 70 fights. Leonard had what, 35 and couldnt handle someone he was supposed to beat? Duran at least whipped Sugar Ray at the end of those 14 years. Can Sugar Ray say he ever did the same to Norris?

Let's not forget he was two weight classes above his own division and still beat your "prime Sugar Ray"

Incorrect - their only fight 14 years or more from Durans debut was super Sugar's near shutout win :good

Call it prime but the fact is Leonard improved post Duran and may have even been still improving post Hearns. SRL moved up 2 divisions and still beat the title wielding Hagler

    :good

So now he's improving into the Hagler fight! Tough to keep your story straight the way you keep changing it.

    "Title weilding hagler"

He was a "crazy-psycho" mean mutha in that hot blooded sort of way, but I think Carlos Monzon, in the opposite way, meaning cold-blooded actually outdid him in actually being a real life badass.

Dejesus beat Duran on points in 1972 but Duran KOd him twice after with the title on the line (1974 & 78.)

Nobody is unbeatable, even in their prime, everyone is human but trying to take Duran`s LWT title is probably right up their with trying likewise with SRRs WWT crown, Ali`s HWT title before the lay-off & Pep`s FWT title pre plane crash. Duran was one of the very best ever tho he did have some trouble with movers. Nobody is perfect but RD was one of the few that came close at his peak.
The performance in the 1st SRL fight was legendary vs a prime fellow top 10 p4per (IMO.)

I seem to recall that in the third fight one of them ended up a bloody mess and that the ring doctor stopped by the corner more than once to take a look...

Duran was a mean fighter. A genuine badass of the highest order. It wasnt contrived like maybe some of Aaron Pryor`s antics later on. He was a natural warrior and natural fighting machine.

With that said anyone is beatable. Sometimes he gained weight between fights or partied too much. He was able to get away with it when he was young but it eventually caught up to him.
