Hearing rumours that someone spotted Smith landing an 'elbow shot'

Not seen the fight, can anyone confirm?

Right hand followed by an uppercut whilst Eubank sat on the ropes imagining himself as Floyd Mayweather

If Usyk wouldn't dare sit on the ropes or in a corner pretending to be Floyd then why would you try it?

Roy Jones seems to think so. He posted an image of it as a response to Eddie Hearn.

Liam throwing a left hook, Eubank dipping down and getting caught by the forearm over the top of the head. VERY common in boxing.

A clean right hand hurt him and the uppercut finished him.

He shouldn't have been in the corner dipping up and down thinking he's tyson fury. Smith clearly can whack.

If Eubank was worth his salt he wouldn't have got stuck in the corner.

Thanks for posting, Hearn's problem in general is over speaking especially about the things we are thinking, he really does himself more damage then he realizes, but whatever.

    I agree with eddie.

I dont like roy jones as a trainer.

Imagine floyd mayweather training Froch, and suddenly Froch starts executing shoulder rolls and defensive stuff.... that's ruining a fighter. The same way that CEJ has been ruined.

In favour of RJJ I will say that there was not much to ruin in the first place, tbh. So it doesnt really matter.

Smith landed some big shots on CEJ in the corner, that put him down. It looks like the elbow grazed him as he over commited on the left hook. No excuses, CEJ got beat fair and square.

CEJ’s ego will have to have an excuse to justify the loss. RJJ is doing him no favours by endorsing it. He needs to help his fighter actually accept his failings and work on them.

First it was the weight even though CEJ in his own words never comes in above 165 when he fights at 160 and he had to eat the morning of the fight to get up to the weight when he campaigned up at 168.

“When I fight at 160, the maximum I put on is five pounds.''

''Why did you make the decision to move down to middleweight for this fight? In what ways are you stronger at 160-pounds?

"I’ve never been a real super middleweight. I walk around at 170 pounds out of competition and have to eat breakfast the day of my weigh-ins to make 168. I believe at 160 I am going to be a beast now that I have become accustomed to fighting much bigger fighters over the last three years."

''I’m not a true super-middleweight so I’m excited to be fighting at 160-pounds. I’m going to be a beast. I’m going to be an absolute savage. The power and the speed is going to really shine through against guys my own size.

Anyone with a belt in the middleweight division, I’m coming for them. If that means Charlo, I’ll be more than happy to get in there with him.''

“I am a natural middleweight and if there are opportunities there then I will take them.”

He said he was fighting opponents who were 20-30lbs heavier than him up at 168. That's not actually true and even Groves who was a big SMW was coming in around 184 IIRC, so yeah he was a lot bigger but it wasn't even 20lbs, let alone 30lbs

Now it's the elbow (I know he hasn't claimed this yet) in a fight he was ''dominating'' even though he wasn't dominating it. I had it 2-1 to Smith and I though a lot of CEJ's jabs were falling short or being blocked on the gloves. But I have no problem if anyone had it 2-1 to CEJ because round 2 was debatable. But anyone who had it 3-0 to CEJ and thought he was dominating the fight is delusional. He had a very good round 3 but Smith wasn't in any trouble and he was catching him with big shots and was well in the fight.

The first right hand over the top almost dropped him but he was able to right himself but then the left uppercut shortly after was the shot that really hurt him badly. The left hook/alleged elbow almost immediately after finished him when he was already badly hurt.

Smith doesn't punch as hard as Groves but he caught him flush with a bunch of big shots in quick succession and his accuracy, punch picking and combinations were very impressive against a moving target.

Here are the highlights....hopefully timestamped. The action starts around 6 minutes in.

I didn't see any elbows. That uppercut was the coup de grace.

I just watched the knockdown at 0.25 speed on the highlights and didn't see a hint of an elbow. Really pathetic if this is the narrative they're going with.
