Was collins really hypnotised ?, haha i just about remember this. Would love to see some british and irish fights like this these days, damn those days were great [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m_pcPhWp0w[/ame] Rest of film in the side bar
i remember it as clear as day. Eubank was more apprehensive than scared as he wasnt sure if collins was serious about being hynotised until he say him in the ring with the headphones on. I think eubank had the watson thing in the back of his head and didnt want to be fighting a hynotised man and it kinda threw him off his stride a little. Collins, of course, wasnt hypnotised and said so in the ring afterwards when he told the interviewer 'We fooled them all' or words to that effect
Kalambay, McCallum.... I know I **** people off harping on about it but what a waste of talent. I would have loved Eubank to have fought just one of those guys to prove what a great fighter he was.
watched the fight recently. Eubank actually fought above what his typical recent supermiddle level had been. Both of them were sharp in there. Ebank won the fight imo.He had a clear 4 points from the last three rounds, and you would be harsh and wrong to give the flash knockdown/slip of him as a 10-8 round imo.Through nine rounds i had the fight even.Collins outworked him, but was generally hitting nothing but gloves, arms and shoulders, and getting outjabbed. I wouldn't call it an outright robbery, as it's possible you could have either fighter ahead by 2-3 points after nine, but considering some of the decisions he got, Eubank was a surprising loser here.
one of those fights where you either choose quality or quantity. i thought collins won but just because he seemed to land some pretty good leads in the later rounds. good fight anyways
Considering what happened to Eubank with Michael Watson you could forgive any apprehensions he had in any fight. Scared though?? I very much doubt it lads..
Eubank admitted he was afraid of almost every opponent he ever faced in an interview once, and thats what motivated him and kept him in peak fighting form. Sugar Ray Robinson said he was afraid everytime he stepped into the ring I believe, as have other fighters.
