Was everyone on here aware that Pacquiao vs Margarito was another catchweight fight?

People have been banging on about this for weeks, but no-one has yet given me a reason why sanctioning bodies should regulate weight agreements between fighters but not regulate all of the other things that fighters negotiate in contracts which might have an impact on the fight - for example ring size, gloves and most important of all location.

 

It doesn't matter, a junior middle is from 147 to 154. Just like a WW is from 140 to 147. The weight is a contract issue and as long as it between those weights at the weigh in it means nothing in boxing terms. Seeing as how AM has been 147 FOREVER I doubt it matters AM weighing in at 150. Pac is just small and it is level for them both to weigh in at 150. If AM was a natural 154 and was being drained it would be an issue but he makes 147 easy. It is a REAL TITLE win as long as it is between 147 and 154. 154 doesn't mean you have to weigh that to be in the division. 154 is just the LIMIT.

 

I really wish boxing fans would become more educated about the sport and the rules before posting stuff. Not just looking for a KO fly by fans.

 

I would rather see it at the limit of 154. Manny can come in at 150 if he wants, but he shouldn't bar Margarito from coming in at the limit. I guess he agreed to it though.

 

I have no problem with catchweights as long as there isn't a title on the line. If you are gonna claim to hold a title, you need to be willing to fight at that weight.

I love how some people bring up Mayweather in a thread about team emmanuel forcing other fighters into catchweights. You clowns give Floyd too much credit. He caused the earthquake in Haiti, he really runs team emmanuel and their catchweight activities, and when one of your fat mothers get a heart attack, it'll be because Floyd triggered it.

Even tho there's a catchweight, I don't see it being a significant advantage for pac if it is even one at all. Margo will make it easy and it shouldn't take anything out of him. He was 153 for his last fight and has went up and down before. He still gonna get an embarrassing beating.

 

The internet was not around in Sugar Ray Leonard's day. If it was I asure you that people would be up in arms over it.

 

no one is twisting anyones arm to make margarito take the fight...if people wouldnt agree to catch weights then no one would be butching about pac "making " people "drained"
