Was Floyd even aware that he would lose to Dela Hoya in their fight?

He did take away his jab Alok. What do you know about boxing anyway chav? He made Oscar reluctant to open up because he was getting hit with clean counters and that included Oscar's jab as well:deal

Margo was still outlanding Cotto after the 5th and landing plenty clean though because despite not being that accurate he was throwing loads more and Cotto's defense wasn't that good. but yea on rounds it was near even going into the 11th. Margo will do the same to him again

Floyd was barely a welterweight when he fought Oscar at 154, so I think he played it safe for that reason. Beating Oscar was also his train ticket into the big time.

I think they made the fight a SD to have grounds for a rematch, even though it was not close. You can see it in this very thread, some chumps actually thought it was close. Oscar was expecting this fight to do good numbers, he knew he could bully Floyd with his size, and he wanted to plan the bug.

And Margarito outlanded him on powerpunches by 237-179.....Obviously Marg wasn't that 'accurate' but he certainly won the battle of 'effective aggression', ie he was landing allot, hurting his opponent and bossing him. Delahoya was aggressive but not effective because he wasn't landing or hurting his opponent

It was a competitive fight and close fight, but Floyd was the clear winner on this one. Floyd picked it up once Oscar started fading in the late rounds which he'd done notoriously in the past and stopped using the jab. Floyd was the fresher of the 2 and just picked him apart to win a SD. A younger, more aggressive Oscar might of pulled out a draw or even a win.

There must have been some serious heat on those missed punches by Oscar. The wind from them caused a lot of swelling on Floy Mayweathers face.

Other than starting out the 11th round very good... Floyd Mayweather didn't do much more than feather dust Oscar's gloves all night long.

You ever taken a body shot before?if it lands in the right place it takes the wind right out of you, does not have to be the hardest shot in the world.

i've taken bodyshots yes they hurt but i've seen de la hoya take far more vicious bodyshots and not go down.

I slightly disagree. Mayweather wasn't as accurate as he usually is against DLH. But he didn't just catch Oscar's gloves all night...the video below shows that. (Also, watch out for 1.30-1.33...easily the best punch of the night, Oscar had to dig in after this punch).
