It seems like he only takes on fights he can win, because as soon as he signs the contract, suddenly the guy that was supposed to be a major threat, is not a shot, bum who never stood a chance in the first in the place. Fights that people thought were going to be tough, he made one sidedly easy, and he gets penalized for that.

If he was afraid like people claimed he was, he never would have given Castillo a rematch.

you have to have serious doubts about mayweather. yeh his skills look very good vs. the right opponents. just like donald curry looked like a world beater. but when he fought that young strong hungry guy in Lloyd Honeyghan, he got knocked out. and was never the same after.

i think floyd was smart enough and had the connections to be able to duck his "Lloyd Honeyghans" who were Margarito, Cotto and now Pacquiao.

all of floyd's victims were flawed and disadvantaged - Mosley was THIRTY EIGHT, Baldomir was 35, slow footed, slow handed, predictable, with 9 losses and just happy for the payday, Judah was Judah: an enigma who could never win the big one at the A level, Oscar was a full time promoter on the downslope, Marquez was 36 and forced to go up two weights, Hatton looked mediocre at 147 compared to 140.

One can only conclude that Mayweather's skills are overrated and a bit of smoke and mirrors - until he steps up and puts them on display against the best - MANNY PACQUIAO. floyd can talk the talk but he dont walk the walk against the BEST. and there's a reason for that. Lack of self confidence to beat THE BEST.

The only guy that you can make an argument that he ducked was Cotto and only after he beat Mosley. Before and after that is a diffrent story.
Margarito and Williams are revisionist history. Pacquiao will become too involved in politics when Mayweather returns.

The same can be said about your hero...only your hero was knocked out by 2 bums, and decisioned by an old man. Pac fought Cotto at a catch weight, will fight Margarito at catch weight, Dlh lowest weight in 8 years, MAB and EM were past it. Diaz was a bum at 135... We can say the same damn thing about PAc's comp. Nedal Hussein only lost because of a slow counting ref....

Yet...ALL these guys you named were considered either the BEST in their divisions or Top 10 P4P ranked fighters, or both, when Floyd 'cherrypicked' them. That is simply a FACT.

We can, easily, scrutinize the list of opponents, since JMM 2, and the stage of their careers they were in , for "the best - MANNY PACQUIAO.", as well. :think

Floyd Mayweather had imo achieved his maximum potential and maybe even more because of how smart he is at managing his career and self-promoting.

So I would say he is definately not wasted potential. If anything he's the opposite.
