I have seen fights with Foreman vs the the 5"11 Big Foot Martin, the 5'7 Dwight Quawi and the 6"ft Gregorio Peralta and seen him get hit a lot by this group of short-non-heavyweight punchers and I have seen him blow out 5"11 Joe Frazier and Burt Cooper but was Foreman always a brute against shorter guys?

In this fight against Guido Trane a guy who appears to be about 5"10-5"11 they stop this fight on a cut but Trane who had a 13W (9ko) -7L-4D record actually stuns Foreman a few times in the fight and even in the 5th rd. before the fight is stopped. This guy had an inside style with no apparent strengths or worldwide experience but he managed not to embarrass himself and landed well against Big George.

My conclusion is despite the Frazier fights some short inside guys could be effective vs George.

    any thoughts

Foreman was struggling to find his timing but looked to be in very good shape by his comeback standards. I don't think this fight showed a whole lot, a younger, more aggressive Foreman would have taken this opponent out in 2 rounds.

I have often thought Guido did very well here. And George looked as good as he ever did in this comeback for that fight too.

Looks as though the poster above you worked it all out long ago.

Oh that guy, “I like boxing”. From post #5? Where’s he these days?

I wonder if he watched Foreman vs Guido? A lot of people have these opinions and they don’t actually watch the film.
