Was Foreman really weight drained in his first career and if so, how much and why?

Here's Chat GPTs response. Foreman's documented issue was dehydration.

    Hot Weather Risks

Is it safer to be in hot, dry weather or hot, humid weathrr?
    ChatGPT
Both hot, dry weather and hot, humid weather come with their own set of risks and challenges, and which one is safer depends on various factors and individual preferences. Let's explore the characteristics of each type of weather:

Hot, Dry Weather: In hot, dry weather, the air has low humidity, which means there is less moisture in the atmosphere. Some of the advantages and risks of hot, dry weather include:

    Advantages:

    1. Lower risk of mold and mildew growth due to the lack of humidity.
    2. Sweat evaporates more quickly, potentially providing a cooling effect on the skin.
    3. Reduced risk of certain heat-related illnesses, such as heat exhaustion, due to better evaporative cooling.
    Risks:

    1. Increased risk of dehydration: In dry conditions, the body's sweat evaporates faster, and people might not notice the amount of fluid they are losing through perspiration.
    2. Dry skin and respiratory irritation: Dry air can cause skin dryness and respiratory discomfort in some individuals.
    3. Wildfires: Dry conditions can lead to an increased risk of wildfires, which pose a threat to both people and the environment.
Hot, Humid Weather: In hot, humid weather, the air is saturated with moisture, making it feel more oppressive and uncomfortable. Here are some of the advantages and risks of hot, humid weather:

    Advantages:

    1. Reduced risk of dehydration: The higher humidity can slow down the evaporation of sweat, helping to retain more moisture in the body.
    2. Skin and respiratory benefits: The moisture in the air can be beneficial for the skin and might alleviate some respiratory conditions in certain individuals.
    Risks:

    1. Increased risk of heat-related illnesses: Humid conditions can impede the body's ability to cool itself through sweating, increasing the risk of heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
    2. Mold and mildew growth: High humidity can promote the growth of mold and mildew in buildings, which can lead to health issues.
    3. Discomfort and fatigue: High humidity can make people feel lethargic and uncomfortable, affecting overall well-being.
Ultimately, what is considered safer depends on how well-prepared individuals are for each type of weather and how their bodies respond to different conditions. It's essential to take appropriate precautions in either type of weather. Stay hydrated, seek shade, and avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat in both hot, dry and hot, humid weather. If you have specific health conditions or concerns, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional to determine what weather conditions are most suitable for you."

I dehydrated 5 pounds once 5 hrs before for a sport with weight classes. And of course I rehydrated immediately after weigh in and 5 hrs later I still felt pretty weak compared to normal.

I don’t believe that Foreman was dehydrating himself before fights. I think who ever wrote that heard “cutting weight”and assumed it meant water weight as that is common in other weight classes. Foreman may have cut weight by dieting that makes a little sense. Dehydrating for a fight if you don’t need to sounds to ******ed to be true.

But it is not at all typical to be dehydrated like that after going 12 rounds.
Foreman's religious experience was precipitated by a medical crises.
Nothing he did in there would get someone who had a HEALTH level of hydration-barring a medical problem-so severely dehydrated.

But something like was written about recently here, Foreman only getting ice on his tongue, not drinking water for a long period before the fight, *certainly* could account for it.

Oddly enough, those things aren't documented. But it is documented thar he passed his pree fight medical without notable dehydration or any other issue.

He did cut weight before fights. He said so on multiple occasions back in the 70's and today when detailing accounts of his life in biographies/tweets/etc

"When he gets in the ring, he ain't gonna have time to think," Foreman said. "He don't know what I'm gonna do, but he can pretty well guess. Wherever he goes, there's gonna be George Foreman, right in his face. Somebody got to pay for all that nice weight I lost. I like to eat. I'm prettier slim but I'm happier fat. If I can ever afford it, I'm gonna eat all I want and I'm gonna be very fat. He gonna have to pay me for making me stay slim."

I'm guessing his walk around weight was at least 232-235 lbs if he was grouchy about losing the weight. Can't remember too much about his diet.

You mean the pre-fight medical did not test for it & it was not noted right?
Frazier passed physicals for years when legally blind on one eye by just changing the HAND he covered the same eye with.
Ali never should have had a license to box for years, visibly shook from Parkinson's, lost basic physical competencies when he was superbly athletic before...

Don't you think almost anyone who was significantly dehydrated could pass a physical, especially when much fame & money is involved?
He double L, I can wake up & need several glasses of water (a sign of at least mild dehydration is for a while afterwards you do not need to urinate) especially when it is warm, & without training.

Dehydration happens or can get worst RAPIDLY.
Especially when you are allowed minimal or no fluids.
And you are in a warm climate-somewhere like San Juan.

And how much time was there between the medical exam & the fight?
Unless you are gonna tell me God actually communicated with him & he literally saw a black pit of Oblivian etc before being saved by Jesus Christ...

was Foreman possibly properly hydrated when after those 12 rounds he was hallucinating from dehydration!

Let’s also neglect to mention he weighed in with combat boots and jeans on… He was also totally at mercy to Ali the clinch. He looks bigger than he is because his heads just too small.

That was the weigh in for the Norton fight; where is the indication he weighed in with jeans & combat boots for the Ali bout?
Also show me any photos where Foreman's head looks small.
    Or smaller than Ali's.

His hands & arms are bigger than Ali's.

The commission’s job is to make sure he’s not dehydrated before the fight. Whether he got dehydrated from wailing away at air and panicking for 12 rounds is a different issue.

He would get dehydrated before fights all the time.

It’s speculative. Virgil Ortiz would be a documented case. I’m suspicious of excuses that are made for popular fighters.

Given his weight varied considerably during the 70s I don't think it can be stated that it was artificially low due to dehydration or whatever.

Foreman was as light as 212 and as heavy as 231 1/2 a difference of practically 20 pounds. If we assume he got as low as 212/213/214 via dehydrating it seems logical to assume that version of Foreman would probably weigh a few pounds more without dehydration eg 218 to 220 or so.

Common sense suggests Foreman could fight at cruiserweight

He would dehydrate even before fights he won. Nothing speculative about. Everyone in the Foreman camp spoke about it.

90% of fighters dehydrate before fights.
