It's interesting to see how perception on this fight has changed. Immediately after the fight, people said it was close with a few idiots saying Froch was "lucky". 6 months down the line and the majority of people had Taylor easily winning the bout, which I find really strange. It was a very close fight but, ultimately, Froch's gameplan worked.
Taylor was hanging on for dear life from the 7th.He was still scoring, but Frochs big rights were shaking him to his boots.I never had much time for Froch before this fight, but i became a believer afterwards. As much as some would have us believe,an iron will can overcome many technical deficiences. Its all about application.
Taylor was "hanging on for dear life"? Motion to have the above struck from the record on account of it being obviously false.
Motion granted. Although Froch upped the ante and started landing shots with some hurt on them with surprising regularity if i remember correctly.
haha i love the myth that taylor schooled him the press row scores were split down the middle some having froch up going into the last some having taylor but watch it again no one in press row had it by more than two points to either manwhich would have meant if taylor had taken a knee and not got stopped all of press row would have scored it to froch because of the two knockdowns (assuming taylor dropped to a knee during the final barrage which would have been the second knockdown of the round) i had it exactly level 6-5 froch with taylor evening it out with the knockdown the judges scores were bull**** an as much as i love jt im glad froch got the stoppage cos the judges would have robbed him
I actually had it 6 rounds to 5 Froch but i was watching it while high so i dont know if that counts lol.
i was at this fight with about 20 other froch fans n we knew he was behind going into the last round, which resulted in a bloke flying over our heads when taylor went down and then ****in bedlam when it was stopped, 20 of us with about 600 americans around us, ill never forget that night
I dont recall my exact score card, but I do remember having JT very comfortably in control of this fight.
