**** fight, don't waste your time. I can't even remember one good exchange that sticks out to find in a round. I thought froch edged it only because direll didn't do enough, was on his bike the whole fight and wasn't interested in exchanging, all of that against a champ on home turf won't win you a fight.
it was a **** fight. one of froch's worst performances.. froch would beat him pretty cleanly if they fought now i think, but nobody cares so obviously there will never be a rematch
Poor fight, very even first 10 rounds with Dirrell running and clinching and Froch swinging and hitting clean air. Last two rounds, Dirrell engaged a bit more and landed a few good clean punches and won those rounds. So I do think Dirrell deserved to win, but in the long run it was a better result for the sport of boxing, Froch moved onto bigger and better things and gave us a number a fantastic fights, whilst Dirrell showed himself to be a bit of a coward in the Abraham fight and then never really came back - a huge waste of talent.
that bad? im going to have to watch it because im getting conflicting stories between it was close and the decision stunk
again, lucky you! yeah, those 2 mexicans, 1 belgian and italian sure showed their nottingham bias and had froch's back!
I was at the fight and felt that Dirrell had perhaps edged it on the night. Watching it again a couple of years back, I had it 114-113 to Froch. If Dirrell had fought every round like he did from his point deduction in the tenth (which seemed to make him snap in to life and realise that he had to start working now) then he'd have outclassed Froch. He actually hurt him notably in that round. Based on our scoring system it's a fight which is arguable either way in my opinion, but meaning no disrespect to Froch it was a fight which Dirrell threw away as much as he won it. Rounds 6 to 9 with all that holding, complaining to the ref and dancing around on the outside at the expense of actually engaging or making Froch pay when he'd made him miss cost him dear.
I went remember coming out the arena thinking Froch was lucky but not exactly a robbery close fight. I've never bothered watching it back (why would I put myself through that again)
It was one of the worst "fights" I've ever withnessed. I had it for Dirrell by a single point, but it was one of the very few fights I saw that the guy who won on my card didn't get the nod. Dirrell was so incredibly negative in that fight, he had that coming. That was one of the biggest spoilfests I ever saw from a challenger, and he would be stupid to think he would get away with that in a champion's backyard.
wasn't a robbery and dirrell moved too much and didn't fight enough, he buzzed froch at one point but didn't follow it up. Dirells speed and movement did give carl problems. The point deduction for the head butt was probably a bit harsh. A draw might have been fair. Robbery? Not really the score cards were about right. A point or two in either direction is easily arguable. it was an SD after all not a UD by miles. Froch did push the action and did land shots but the cleaner stuff came from dirrell - its an awful fight to watch in fairness and Dierrll has faded away since. Maybe a win over degale will put in back amongst the top fighters
Lot of people re-writing history hear. Close fight. I had Froch winning. I find it very difficult to make a case for Dirrell winning 7 rounds (never mind the deduction). I can make a case for Froch winning 7 Rounds. Again close fight, no robbery and Dirrell was a complete ****er the way he spoiled. Anyone who says there was any kind of schooling on either side is painfully deluded!!!
