Was Froch vs Pascal, more entertaning than any fight Calzaghe was ever involved in?

i always thought brewer looked like a fish out of water when he fought?

Brewer was hard as ****ing nails. Took some good shots from Joe, and dished a bit out also.

 

Sorry to use the age-old cliche, but Froch-Pascal was 1 of those 'throw-back' fights that fans of the gatti-esque testosterone fuelled warrior style of fighting salivated over. I say, without, shame that whilst I appreciate the wonderful art the most memorable fights in my time as a boxing fan were the wars with the combatants slugging it out willing to give their last ounce of blood and sweat to walk (if possible)away the victor.

You hear people list dream fights and the old classics come up- Corrales-Castillo 1, the Gatti-Ward trio, Benn-McClellen, Barrera-Morales etcetc theres a common note. Of course there will be purists who list a sweet pea masterclass here or a hopkins schooling there but in general the most memorable fights are the all action scraps because they appeal to the greater number- the casual fan, the FIGHT fan and even the more educated boxing nut than me will still be able to appreciate the guts that go with it.

I dont put Froch-Pascal in the 'classic' catagory, its was a very good fight. It needed a Gatti-Ward round 9 or Castillo-Corrales round 10 to put it up there with the greats. To say this fight was greater than any of Calzaghe's is tricky because parts of the Eubank fight, how he turned the kessler fight round, the reid fight was good, the mitchell come back was awesome not to mention to lacy beatdown so Joe has given many entertaining moments but yes I feel over 12 rounds Froch-Pascal was more entertaining.

p.s Doesnt mean the cobra would beat Joe. As mentioned by someone previously, its tough to entertain when your so much better than most you faced.

 

I preferred Calzaghe v Lacy over Froch v Pascal.

I always look forward to watching Froch fight, he gives it everything and is prepared to dig deep to get the victory, however, Calzaghe did the same but with much more boxing skill. The Lacy demolition, from the build up and through the 12 rounds was pretty amazing to watch. Froch v Pascal was a good battle, in its own right though.

 

I think Calzaghe v Mitchell is just as entertaining as Froch v Pascal. Round 2 is one of the most dramatic rounds of boxing I've seen.

 

Froch - Pascal

Same **** every round, two boxers, who had no power to hurt each other, with their equalling bad conditioning meaning neither could force their will on the other.

12 rounds of repetitive ****...bang, bang, bang....bang.


You knew from the first 30 seconds it was going to a decision, none of the unknown at all.

I actually had goose bumps watching the first few rounds of Froch-Pascal.

Pascal looked as hard as nails and you sensed even Froch was taken aback.

 

"Even Froch" - every one of Froch's fights including and since he fought Pascal Froch has been taken aback. He was hurt against Taylor, hurt against Dirrell and hurt in the Kessler fight.
