The Wilder fights took a lot out of Fury and then we saw a MMA boxing novice in Ngannou drop Fury, so I think Usyk’s wins over Fury are a tad overhyped.

Fury got his bell rung by Wilder numerous times

I would wager that those events started his decline

He was in the best shape he could possibly be in and got bested by the cruiserweight twice. In fact, the first fight should have been stopped he was that badly hurt.

He boxed well in both Usyk fights, and finished both fights relatively strong, given how they went.

    More baba tears

    Baba tears here
    Baba tears there
    Baba tears everywhere

Even his own brother Big Shane Fury said it was the best he'd ever seen him box after the first fight and Belly was just as good in this one but Usyk is the just better

Belly tried the come in lighter and boxing on the back foot approach in the first fight

He tried the come in heavier (albeit not near as heavy as his official weight given all that clobber he had on) and trying to be more aggressive

He claimed he didn't do much sparring for the first fight due to the cut

    Paris has miscarriage

So he locked himself away in camp for three months away from his family for the rematch and was looking very impressive by all accounts and this time he was coming to KO Usyk and ''hurt'' him. He even said he was wearing Usyk's funeral suit

He tried different approaches but guess what

    He failed twice

Trunks round his shoulders, big beard, stiff-arming all night, holding and hitting, leaning on the much smaller man, hitting low etc. but none of it could save him from losing

He fought really well though in both fights, at worst his 2nd and 3rd best performances, and there's no shame in that because he lost to the greatest fighter of his generation, a master boxer magician with a box of tricks and an iron chin

Baptism II was delicious as was Baptism III but the level in competition, skill, ability, and difficulty between Usyk and The Dosser is absolutely astronomical. The Dosser can't box to save his life and he's a one-trick pony sitting duck.

The fact a 40% muscle atrophied inactive shell of Belly could come off the couch after having not fought anyone with a pulse in four years and whoop his ass says it all.

Belly would always beat the soul out of his body like a dirty dog like he did in Baptism II and III if boxes on the front foot and is in any kind of fighting shape

Belly's best ever performances are the two Usyk fights and Wlad

He was not damaged goods. Stop insulting the man. He came into that second fight in great shape and just got beaten by the better fighter.

I don't think it's a totally unreasonable position to say that the Wilder trilogy took a little something from Fury (especially Wilder 3). HOWEVER it's impossible to measure, and is certainly not as simple as that, as there are a number of other factors going on here... 1) Usyk is older than Fury. So even if we didn't see the best Fury at this point, neither are we logically seeing the best Usyk. 2) Fury has not lived the life outside the ring, which can be just as damaging on the body as what happens in the ring. 3) Tyson has always been erratic in his performances, generally fighting up or down to the level of his competition. So I find it quite hard to say when his prime was. Certainly he could have made Wilder 3 an easier fight if he took it more seriously going in.
But I don't have much sympathy anyway, because the bottom line is that Fury had the opportunity to make the Usyk fight much sooner - when he was younger himself - and chose not to. The fights happening in 2024 was completely self inflicted.

    This is a reach
Sure his legs ain’t the same since say the Vlad / 1st Wilder fight.
So he changed styles & went all Cronk Juice.
    Focusing on power & KOs
he was the best version of himself possible in both bouts vs Usyk.

    Usyk himself is 38
So you can also say he is not the same guy that he was @ cruiser.
Regardless they were both the best versions of themselves possible When they fought.

I'll agree to this, if you agree that the Wlad and Wilder
I'll agree with this, if you agree that Fury's wins over and old Wlad and one dimensional, no fundamental having Wilder were overhyped. Deal?

Damaged goods? You mean 30lbs over weight and a fat slob? Yes.

Fury said after the 3rd Wilder fight he couldn't walk straight for a month. But he would have always lost to Usyk anyway.
