No he wasn't. The commentators count isn't the ref's count and nor do they match.

The evidence is plain as day. The ref's count has been taken from when he went down and you can see the ref wave it off at his own count of 10 which matches the time Foreman had been on the floor.

    I cannot believe it's even a topic.

Foreman never was in that position. He was not going to hang on to win the fight.

I love those two seconds of Archie Moore saying "the first time" at the end

A few interesting conspiracy theories in this thread.

    Back to reality:

Exhaustion had clearly overcome him as much as Ali's punches.

He wouldn't have lasted if the ref. let him go on.

I don't think he was hurt, just exhausted. He would eat that combo Ali landed on him earlier in the fight. He didn't have the brains to compete with Ali at this stage imo. Chin, power, belief,he wasn't lacking a part from his approach. He thought like the majority, that he would simply blow Ali away

I heard Ali didn't want to ruin it by missing or looking clumsy. I don't think it was class

A gift? Maybe one of the K.Norton fights was, possibly 2 of them. Ali out thought, and out fought Foreman. It's amazing how folks don't believe their own eyes when the beat-down is so plainly obvious.

George kind of quit tbh. Definitely made up for it for the heart he showed later in his career.

Ali won. Foreman lost. Too bad there wasn't a rematch back in the U.S. sometimes later.
