Was George Foreman REALLY any better than the likes of Sam Peter?

    I know a lot is made of the old champs like Foreman but if we look at the following attributes.

    Power - Equal
    Speed - Equal
    Chin - Edge to Peter
    Skill - Edge to Foreman
    Chin - Probably Equal
    Resume - Edge to Foreman

    We can see there is not a lot to seperate them. If Foreman was in his prime today he would be another Peter/Areolla type and get KO'd by the Klitschko brothers.

    Yes, he was. He was a great fighter. Peter was never more than average.

    He gives an edge in chin to Peter and then two sentences later says their chins are equal.

    Foreman would obliterate Peter.

    70's Foreman was one of the most overrated fighters in history, even tho I put him at 4 or 5 on any H2H list.

    Foreman was in big trouble in the 10th round against lightheavyweight Peralta and even knocked down at the bell. Look at what Lyle done to Foreman. Lyle was winning SD's and MD's over fighters with records like 10-18-0. Just four years after almost knocking out Foreman Lyle was stopped in one round by Jerry Cooney.....90's Foreman was let go by top rank when he refused to fight any one in the top 100! And sign with USA network when they agreed to let him fight whoever he wanted. And that's what he did. I remember one of his opponents had to be carried out before the fight.
