An example of his opponent quality before a time in his career compared to later on when performances weren't as dominant. Everybody loves Ishida.

    yes a little bit

I know a lot here will disagree but Golovkin was physically in his prime around 2009-2014 but lost a lot time when Felix Sturm was ducking him and when he was in conflict with Universum Promotion

Haha yeah right, so how do you explain fighters who have CLEARLY lost 2 steps and 10years out of their PHYSICAL PRIME being able to compete with YOUNG top dogs at the highest level?

Mental maturity is the reason why. Ask any top fighter and they will tell you, i have.

Either a)their physical decline hasn't been dramatic b)the preservative power of drugs c)their prime was so much higher than their opponents that they were able to decline significantly without becoming inferior d)as their physical ability declined they were able to somewhat compensate with an increase in skill, to which there are limits or e)these young fighters either have physical or technical flaws to be exploited. Any one or a combination of the above should adequately explain the phenomenon.

You can theorise all you want but the fact is the Majority of boxing is the mental part & that improves with age. Dont take my word for it just Ask any fighter or coach at world level and they will tell you this, countless champions have emphasized this in many interviews. I leave it at that .

While I'm sure that I could ask any idiot and get that response, it doesn't happen to be true. The majority of boxing is physical, which is why it is a sport and not an art. You train by physically moving your body and not by reading books. You don't get better over time or else a man's prime would be in his fifties or sixties.

If you want to see how far you can get with just your mind and a crap body, then I suggest you skip the exercise portion of training while taking up drinking and smoking.

I look forward to seeing your upcoming geriatric league.
