I truly don't know.....I'm 50/50....I think Gonzalez may have shot his load to early.......thoughts?

Great champions know how to pace themselves. I have no doubt Gonzalez schools Ricky if he paced himself......but I don't think he knows how to pace himself.

    Gassed...

Why Quit with a broken wrist...

His legs looked gone.. & the way his corner reacted would suggest so.

    Gassed.

He was so done. His legs were already 90% done by round 6.

    Probably both.

If it was JUST a broken wrist, he could gritted it out.

He didnt have the lungs to carry him though.

Look at Martinez against Murray. He broke his hand but kept in there.

    Thats the difference

I think he gassed. I was screaming at the TV for him not to punch himself out in the 7th. Very foolish of him. Hopefully he'll learn from this and know in future to pace himself in fights. He'll be kicking himself tonight because he practically had that world title round his waist. Before that 7th round, he hand Burns under his spell. Then he ****ed himself over.

You can have all the skills and power in the world but if you have no heart or fighting spirit like Gonzalez you may as well forget it :deal

I think he pushed too much too past. Shame because Gonzalez has potential....if he gets a good trainer and paces himself I see above-average things for him, I really do.

Yup, and so did Burns. Thank God that wasn't Vasquez in there with him.

I was shouting in the 8th for Burns to pounce, looked like Chelo was gonna be stopped.

Agreed, I think a draw was on the cards (Very typical with Hearn). I think Gonzalez was afraid he my have been KO'd - he was utterly spent in that final round.
