Was gonzalez genuinely injured...or utterly gassed?

You don't quit late in a world title fight your ahead in due to a hand. His engine must have been dry.

 

I think he probably broke the wrist in round 7, meaning he'd fought 2 rounds with a broken wrist and thought he'd be ****ed doing another 3 anyway.

 

I think its a bit of both.
I think he was getting gassed, just look at his legs. But I also think his wrist had something to do with it.

Btw. Burns have what Khan don't have, heart and chin.

 

He was ****ed, had nothing left.

His legs were leaving him.

It was his big chance, his world title fight.. a fight where every single day spent in the gym since he started boxing was leading too yet he quit with a broken hand/wrist?

You're telling me, that for 3 rounds/9 minutes, he couldn't have dug deep, glued his injured hand to his chin and tried to get through the fight?

 

Khan might not have a chin, but one thing you cannot say is that he doesn't have a lot of heart

Weak chin, I more than agree. But he has a lot of balls, probably too much for his own good.

 

This. If Khan had less balls, it'd probably be better for him because he'd be able to hide his chin better. Problem is, as soon as a fight breaks out, he'll keep standing and trading.

Same thing happened with Andy Lee.

 

Gassed. Also it looked like Burns caught him with something in the 7th after which he started to flag. The fact that Burns survived must have been pretty demoralising.
