Lets be real, he fought absolute nobodies apart from Lomachenko and Donaire. His resume is very poor apart from the one good win against Donaire

And we all saw what happened in the Loma fight. Loma outclassed Rigo from start to finish in an artistic one-sided performance, People try to talk about size difference but he was only a few pounds, and Loma had a hydration clause. Size isn't what beat Rigo; it was skill, he beat him with technical boxing and it was a complete mismatch He outclassed Rigo from start to finish, He overwhelmed Rigo so much that hemade him quit on frustration only, Rigo looked clueless in there, he barely landed a single thing,
Rigo had a reach advantage but couldn’t do anything, you could literally see Rigo's soul flying away from his body and him finally admitting to the fact that he was made a ***** by the superior Ukrainian. Loma broke him mentally in just 6 rounds, After all the **** talking Rigo did on twitter for months beforehand, it was one of the most humiliating losses I've ever seen. Much worse than a KO but Loma outboxed this guy so thoroughly, Rigo faked injury and quit like a coward. Totally smoked by the better fighter, so one sided. It was Loma’s easiest fight ever

Rigo was a boring to watch, extremely, negative defensive fighter, With a poor chin, he was dropped loads of times.

Rigo did put on a nice performance vs Donaire and never got close to it again. (Yet still got heavily dropped)

Do you see him as a one win wonder/one hit wonder?

I certainly do. His best wins list is appalling apart from that one win. I'd put him in the same bracket as the likes of George Kambosos , Zahir Raheem, Buster Douglas & Andy Ruiz.

lol Nope! I had nonstop heard for years how great he was. So there HAS to be some truth to that!

Before the Loma whoopin he was “One of the ALL TIME PFP GREATS DOE! With arguably the best amateur run in history! He breaks bones and **** in people faces! Absolute assassin of a counter puncher!”

So… no. He had his time. IMO a very good fighter. I actually think he’d probably snipe Inoue if they fought before Rigo hit 38. Rigo was highly dangerous into his late 30’s.

    No.
It´s not like Rigo beat Donaire, and then got whooped by some B level dude. He just had a really thought time getting meaningful fights, and his own attitude and ego did not help. I still remember Leo Emo Cruz demanding $3 million for a fight with Rigo... mother****er at the time was making less than $1 million per fight, same as Rigo. Dude wanted more money than both mans combined career high purses.

Rigo´s management was ass tho, and Bob Arum intentionally sabotaged his career.

Considering the rumor that he’s over 60 years old right now he should actually be considered the best boxer ever lol

You'll see people say no, but you won't see anyone list his HoF resume.

Yep. His pro career was nothing to write home about, that's for sure. He put on a fantastic performance vs Donaire and never got close to it again.

He couldn't do nothing against Loma. couldn't even have had a tiny bit of success against Loma, he couldn't do a single thing, Loma outboxed him thoroughly and embarasssed him

He must've done something to have Inoue's fanboys acting butthurt in 2025.

His lack of big fights and age really hurt him. He could have hung with pretty much anyone around his weight, in his best day, imo

Beating donaire for some reason did more harm than good, TV channels didn't want him and the other top fighters were scared to fight him too

I stop listening when anyone gives Loma credit for beating a man who's naturally 3 divisions smaller than him. For that I can't participate in the discussion.

No, he was the best Super Bantemweight of his generation, none of the other fighters at that weight class didn’t want anything to do with him, Carl Frampton, Santa Cruz and Scott Quigg absolutely and openly ducked him. He’s undefeated at that weight class and only took losses past his prime at Featherweight and Bantamweight.

He was in the high risk low reward bracket for the majority of his career, which also started fairly late.

The lack of excitement in his fights also meant there wasn't much clamour for bigger fights from elsewhere.

    1. He beat a prime Donaire fairly easily whereas Inoue almost got stopped by a 38 year old version.
    2. He knocked out Ceja while completely past it. Ceja then put the first blemish on Fugueroa's record, and Fulton's entire reputation is based on beating Figueroa.

This must be why Inoue fanboys get nervous when Rigondeaux's name is brought up.
