Hagler wasa very versatile fighter. If you're looking for all round skillset he's right in the top echelon.

Edit: Now it looks like I copied Cecil but I didn't swear ta gawd.

I had to look up what echelon meant before I posted it!

I've seen lots better. Hagler instantly comes to mind. Robinson, Roy Jones

very solid physically. His weakness was mental lapses when someone had a style to offset his counterpunching and he was not aggressive enough. He was best when he was a aggressive and had openings.

Hagler was a magnificent fighter. Robinson and Monzon may be better though.

I'd argue that Robinson and Hopkins have a stronger claim but Hagler is up there too.

Yes. Marvin Hagler was the most complete fighter in middleweight history.

Roy Jones was complete in the sense that he appeared unbeatable at middleweight

Prime Hagler was the best and the most well rounded middleweight in history. He also fought and defeated the best competition in my opinion. Quite A few of the fighters he defeated during his championship run probably wins at least a version of the Middleweight World championship if he didn't exist in most era's.
If Hagler had one chink in his armor it was he could be taken out of game by very skilled smart fighters that gave him angles and were excellent counter punchers. Fighters that forced him to lead.
It was a mental issue, seemed he would overthink situations rather than trusting his instincts and letting his hands go.
    But, no fighter is perfect.

The guy you mentioned resembles a wild animal pales in comparison with Hagler, the most complete middleweight ever, with ELITE boxing skills with the killer instinct of Jack the ripper , moving out of harm's way with the speed of a UFO.

In other words, it's a Hagler thread, not about some esoteric name who never won a title.

But he did have speed. Hagler wasn’t molasses but he did not carry elite speed. So both were well-rounded in slightly different ways.
