    after beating Lazcano

"I just missed out on being the best pound for pound boxer on the planet last time, but you are the best pound for pound fans in the world''

by that criteria, Carlos Baldomir got closer to being p4p king.
as for the fans, it's not like he's the only boxer to draw big crowds...Calzaghe's crowd are a lot more decent that the rabid Hatton shower.

If he had beaten Mayweather he would have been top two for me. Hard to be sure until a thing happens...but you can't describe it as "close", it's mot like he had Mayweather in trouble or was zipping ahead on the cards when he was stopped.

If your going to quote someone at least quote it right...

'I might have come up short attempting to become the best pound-for-pound fighter against Floyd Mayweather, but these are the best pound-for-pound fans in the world, no doubt.'

Wasn't he number two before Floyd? If number two beats number one than he is number one.

Manny Pacquiao was #2, he was probably top 10.

Then most likely #3 because I'm pretty sure Pacman was #2 and for a long time now fighting with Mayweather's #1 spot.

He was never close because he was never close to beating Mayweather.

Surely even you can see that with Hatton being undefeated + his overall ability + a win over Mayweather to top off his other wins, then he'd be P4P#1.

Whereas Baldomir had lost nearly 10 times + his poor overall ability + a win over Mayweather = he'd just about be scraping into the top 10.

As for Calzaghe, he's only started getting massive attendances recently. Hatton was selling out MEN for about 8 years. And his following to America was unprecedented.
