I think people are missing the point here. What Hatton said has been misquoted and taken out of context. Someone on here needs a nap.

 

yea i think he was he was awarded fight of they year impressive wins over kosta tzyua, jose Luis Castillio, and mayweather would of made him number 1 also would of been named fighter of the year again if he had managed it, so yes he would of been close to pound for pound 1, in my opinion

f you listen to what Ricky actually sayd in the interview, hes says I had a 'chance' at being no.1 P4P , not "I was close to", its a bit different

 

If he'd beaten Mayweather he'd have been P4P number 1 so in the sense that he was one win away yes but I don't think he was close to beating Mayweather.

 

Even if he did he would've jumped to #2 and Pacman to #1.
