What stage? The stage of coming off a 6th round TKO of Ricardo Mayorga? Get real, dude. Oscar was fine and not weight drained to **** like the version Pacquiao fought. Genaro Hernandez was a more impressive victory than Hatton. ****ing *******s, mayne.

Actually, Jesus Chavez was a tougher fight for Mayweather than was Hatton. Have you ever watched Mayweather/Chavez? I don't think you have.

Hernandez is considered one of the greatest super featherweights in history, never lost at that weight prior to facing Floyd.

DLH was Floyds 5th weight class, and was coming off of a KO of Mayorga.

Both better more accomplished fighters at the time then Ricky Hatton.

I have watched the Chavez fight, i know FMJ's performance isn't a walk in the park in that match. Have you looked how many loses Jesus Chavez has atm, he's a C-D fighter. I'm not a hatton fan. But saying that that Jesus Chavez has a better case of being a HOF'er than hatton is comical.

Exactly,Oscar was a part time fighter at the time he fought Floyd and Hernandez was pretty much finished, even though Hatton wasnt in his best weight class he was still undefeated and at or near his prime and thats why i would rank that win higher than the Hernandez and Oscar wins even though De La Hoya gave Floyd a tougher fight than Hatton did.

in all fairness your right here, the ricky hatton which fought mayweather had been in some really tough fights through out the years Collazo, Tszyu and with hattons increasing in weight within bouts, he was never going to take mayweather similar to the way he took tszyu, the hatton win looking back is not really as impressive as it sounds

Though i semi-disagree to the rest of the post. This part i very much agree on.

"Coming of a Mayorga win" isn't really a case to make him better than Hatton "at their respective" stage when they fought FMJ.

Yes it is. This is OSCAR ****ING DE LA HOYA we are talking about. There is no way in hell Ricky Hatton was a better fighter than Oscar was. That is why Floyd knocked Ricky out and took Oscar to a decision.

You misunderstood my context. FMJ is the first or second "real" fight of Jesus Chavez. What im saying is, after all the hooplas - currently he's rated as a non-elite fighter. He got 7 loss for christ's sake.

Did you miss my highlight in "at that stage". ODLH is miles ahead of Hatton ATG-wise. Happy now?

Him having seven losses today is irrelevant,at the time of the Floyd fight he was a good fighter and a deserving challenger, its not a great win by any means but it surely is a good solid win.

Going in, everyone expected it to be a tough fight and it really didn't end up being tough at all.

Probably 5th or 6th toughest fight for Floyd, definitely behind:

    Castillo 1
    Castillo 2
    DLH
    Judah
