 Could you imagine what Whitaker would have done to Ricky or what Taylor would have done to Ricky?:patsch C'mon man....style wise yea...I can see some similarities with their body work and style both being pressure fighters and all. But JCC was a beast.....a ****ing monster with the ability to box but prefered to bang. ANd he was the best at it in his day. Ricky is not on the same level. That's like saying Paulie is the same class fighter that Floyd is.

Respect, one of the few people here to reply to the thread subject rather than go into rants about who was better and resumes. I had it as his 4th or 5th toughest fight.

No...watch the post fight interviews and where he grabs Ricky after the fight...hugs him and says "this was my hardest fight ever". YOu are right that he said that about EA prior but Floyd said that himself and Ricky also acknowledge that statment when asked by reporters.

It's the truth. Hatton stopping an old ass, washed-up Kostya ain't got **** on Mayorga knocking out a prime, undefeated, fresh off two dominating victories over Shane Mosley Vernon Forrest. :think

What does Hatton being overrated have to do with the difficult time floyd had with Chavez?

This is your problem. You dont know what you are even arguing.

Floyd having a tough fight with chavez has nothing to do with how much of a better fighter hatton is.

Ali had trouble against Norton does that mean Norton is a better fighter than Sonny Liston?

Probably to make Ricky feel good if he did say that. I know when asked in the after fight press conference he dodged the question if it was his toughest fight "yeah it was a tough fight" Floyd was pushed by Castillo, Chavez, and Augustus much harder then Hatton. They made him bleed.

Oscar had two fights in three years prior to the Floyd fight he was basically a part time fighter and way past his best at that point,a win against a taylor made Mayorga isnt enough to change my opinion.

Hernandez was a very good fighter but he was past his best and much slower than he was four or five years earlier and that was even more obvious against a guy with the talent and speed of Mayweather.

If we take all three(Hatton,Oscar,Genaro)in their prime Hatton would probably be in last place even though its close between him and Hernandez but at the stage of their careers where they fought Floyd i would take Hatton over those two, even though Oscar gave Floyd a tougher fight than Hatton that was mostly due to a combination of Oscar's size and Floyd fighting at a weight where hes not as effective and Hatton's style of walking in straight lines with his chin in the air being perfect to a sniper like Mayweather.
