Was Haye beating Bellew in the first fight before the injury?

Fair enough mate - I was off sick yesterday so passed some time going through the booking options but you're right enough. They advertise 18,000 on one booking page and 20,000 on another :)

Yea it was always gonna be ppv. I just hate ppv in general. Well, at least I hate it in the modern day. Years ago when no one could cheat the system it may have been better.

"Haye (103kg), who lost his WBA heavyweight title to Wladimir Klitschko in 2011, dominated de Mori from the opening bell and finished him off after 2min 11sec at the sold-out 20,000-seat Millennium Dome."

Regardless of whether it was 16,000, 18,000 or 20,000 (as reported here by Fox news) the event was a sell out as reported by multiple sources.

Haye was 4-1 up prior to the injury. Bellew still couldn’t finish him for the next 5 rounds even though Haye had one leg. They both looked absolutely shyte.

I think I’d have beaten the version of Haye from the second fight.

Yes, the interest in the rematch was to see if Haye would win like he should have done. Turns out he was shyte even without the injury.

Just the way it goes, he's older than the early 2010s version of himself and just can't handle it anymore. Great in his prime

His Achilles was done and they knew before the first fight. It's not an injury you can just rest and come back from. Ruptured Achilles is probably one of the worst for a sportsman.

He’d had spinal and shoulder surgery, been advised by a doctor to retire and in the 14 months prior to the Bellew rematch torn his bicep and achilles.

The simple fact is he needed a few paydays after a costly divorce. I got reeled in for the first but definitely not for the second.

I'm afraid I did. At least the second one was decisive whichever way you look at it! And set up Bellew to think he could take on Usyk (although if I remember right, did he not call out Andre Ward in the ring at the time?)

Correct. As I mentioned in my previous post, the show's and comeback were a complete con.
