His lack of longevity really hurts him. He had the potential to do a lot more at the weight, but he might also have been knocked out again. I think, all told, he did well to move up to heavy.

But yeah, his CW run is massively overblown.

As you said, after Holyfield Usyk there is very little separating the rest of the crowd.

Either way, top ten is, without doubt, one of the greatest champions to exist in the division, which is what I said.

I never understood the hate for Haye, sure dislike him as a person but as a boxer he was a fun all action boxer with massive power, defiantly one of the most dangerous boxers in any weight.

Side note, I was at a MMA event in Vegas (many years ago) and Haye sat behind me, I turned around and said what’s up, Haye was super cool, we talked for a few min, he wasn’t as arrogant as ppl say.

    This was my top 10:

    #1. Oleksandr Usyk
    #2. Evander Holyfield
    #3. Juan Carlos Gomez
    #4. Tomasz Adamek
    #5. Marco Huck
    #6. Steve Cunningham
    #7. Denis Lebedev
    #8. Murat Gassiev
    #9. Mairis Briedis
    #10. O'Neil Bell

DeLeon, Toney, Qawi, Jirov, Nelson, Thompson & Wlodclarczyk, could be theoretically ranked above David Haye. There's a very real argument that Haye isn't top 15 at cruiserweight, although I'd probably have him around 11.

Exactly, I really don’t understand why he gets to much criticism

Holyfield was much better offensively, and everything else.
Holyfield had one of the best offensive arsenals in history.

He jerked fans around for years with his antics at HW. I disliked his arrogant personality as well, but it was his constant stream of empty promises that really rubbed me up the wrong way. His fans were also massive bellends for the most part, and he still gets massively overrated for his brief mediocre run at CW and his supposed beastly H2H abilities.

I've kind of warmed to him of late, but that won't alter my opinions of him as a fighter. I think he was overrated as a CW and highly underwhelming as a HW. Exciting fighter at times, but good PR made his career look a lot more impressive that it really was.

He was fun when he was matched against fighters he could look good against (old HWs and chinny CWs mostly) but he so rarely put himself in dangerous fights. Whyte's just as unlikeable a personality, but I give him a pass since he likes to challenge himself. I can forgive a fighter a lot if they deliver the goods in the ring, but Haye never really did that save on a very few occasions.

Haye was a big puncher but he was pretty wild with it.

Well this is odd find myself agreeing with you twice in a week. Yh haye did have some talent there for shore. But his prime was very short lived, if we are real about it.

Was definitely a decent fighter but between his body shutting down early and the way he carried himself verbally towards the end of his career.

There is verbally hyping a fight but there are lines in the sand. Lost all respect for him when said on the radio his kids better say goodbye to him because I'm going to kill Bellew in the ring.

Personally think he's lucky Wilder's bailed him on the worst excuses front. Should of stayed at cruiser weight imo

Haye was not as dangerous as Dempsey or Marciano. Nor was he as skilled. Good for lining you up with the right when things were going well. However, no inside game, no short punches, limited punch selection, and couldn't maintain a pace.

Evander Holyfiield would have fustigated Haye. Holyfield is the GOAT Cruiser.
