So long as boxing continues. Who really gives a shoot?

Guys don't really give their boxing opinion anymore. You guys take shots at guys that you don't like and hide it behind some frankenturtlebulldonky response.

I still remember watching,The Gillette Friday Night Fights, Boxing From The Forum, ABC Wide World Of Sports, CBS Sports Spectacular, and the fights on NBC. Those were the days.

If you're from the US, I can understand how you feel.

But most of the rest of the world, was never treated to the fights you grew up watching.

I have been following boxing since the early 60s - but, being from Denmark, I never saw any of the great boxers from that time. It wasn't until we got satellite TV and internet decades later, that I actually got to SEE the fighters I was reading about. Not only that - thanks to YouTube I can now study just about every old-timer, that has ever been filmed.

So for me, NOW is the best of times!

PS: Tonight I'll be watching the entire Monte Carlo card in the comfort of my living room - unthinkable back in the 60s and 70s, where I would have had to wait for Boxing News to arrive a week later, to even catch up on the results!

HBO has been rotting for many years , not just it's boxing coverage. Honestly ,how many people turn on the TV and go to HBO?

I can empathize with you, I do feel very fortunate to have watched many greats from the past. Thanks for reminding me, sometimes the things we have, are taken for granted. You write a good post, looking forward to reading future posts of yours.
