Camacho was NO pernell whitaker. He was also No sugar ray leonard.

    * In my own personel opinion though many disagree, I think oscar de la hoya in his prime was a better pure boxer than camacho.

    No not even close

running and pure boxing skills are two different things.

The best pure boxers are still able to perfom well when physical abilities are diminished and they have to rely on skill alone.

runners rely on physical abilities alone.

great pure boxers Ricardo Lopez Pernell Whitaker Bernard Hopkins

    great runner : Hector Camacho

    Too Ottke-esqu.

Im confused by the term 'pure boxers', to me that means skillsfull guys who just cant punch, but i think you have to be both to be the top of this list, Id describe Mayweather, Jones Jr and Leonard as pure boxers and they are just a few id put ahead and shoulders above Camacho.

Jones JR is not a top pure boxer he relied way to much on his reflexes and performed horribly once he lost his physical advantages,

So a pure boxer is a fighter who doesnt have rely on speed or reflex...thats a lot of what boxing is.

Someone needs to give a breakdown on this term pure boxer means...

speed and reflexes are imprtant but agreat pure boxer can perform well even with average for a boxer reflexes and speed.

Ricardo Lopez is agreat example of a boxer with no great physical advantages winning on learned skill and perfect punch placement.

Nah, not Arguello, not in a pure boxer sense, not at all. Neither was Sanchez, although he was a fantastic boxer, and better in that sense than Arguello. Camacho was excellent in his prime, or his younger days anyway, as he became a total ***** post-Rosario. Amazing how one punch can turn a fighter's style around so thoroughly.
