He has virtually all of the classic posters disagreeing with him on every thread. Its sad, but thats how Rooster likes to play things.

I'll give him credit for one thing, he stands out from the crowd.

JT, looks like our planned beer together down the local is going to kick off like Tyson and Green.

When Camacho fought at junior lightweight, he was super quick
and awesome to behold!!! And I am NOT a Camacho fan.

I remember his speed and ability. He was truly a talented fighter.

Camacho should be remembered as an "almost great". If he was more
dedicated, he would be considered great!!! His natural talent was
    phenomenal!!!

Norris would always give Leonard hell, better athlete and better pure boxer.

That is ludicrous. In terms of athleticism, you could argue he's with Leonard, but in terms of pure boxing I don't think I've heard a more ridiculous thing in this thread. Norris was good enough to outbox and counter a guy like Benitez at his best? Yeah right.

If Norris was so great athletically and a better pure boxer than Leonard he would have taken care of journeyman, Keith Mullings, with ease. Even though Norris' punch resistance was his downfall, his boxing ability and athletic qualities, if they were so great, would never have allowed the fight to reach the later rounds for Mullings to stop him.

Leonard himself was dropped by journeyman, Howard, but he got off the canvas to win. And Leonard came back years later to beat Hagler and Lalonde.

Norris was finished after Mullings handed him an embarrassing defeat.

Humpty Dumpty Norris sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty Norris had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the king's men Couldn't put Humpty Dumpty Norris together again.

Hes a much better athlete than leonard could ever dream of being, you must be joking.

Yeah Norris would outbox and out counter Benitez, i dont think I'm the only one that would think that way.

when was leonard ever offered to turn pro in baseball? From what I have seen, Norris is much faster in fights and he has the superior technique.

Norris soundily outboxed leonard, and you can make all the age excuses you want. When Pernell Whitaker got old and aged, he lost fights, but he didnt get outboxed like the way leonard did against norris.

You have to agree with BrownPimp because the fight was no contest so it's actually ludicrous to say that Leonard could ever handle a fighter who had the speed and moves of a Terry Norris.

Forget this nonsense with Norris having problems with journeymen. Even more important: who won the fight between them? Norris did and with no controversy. No contest.

I also wish people would stop comparing Benitez with Norris. How many boxers did Leonard actually face in his career? Not more than one or two, that's why people have no choice but to resort to bringing up Wilfred's name.

Also, I saw Robbi criticising Terry for difficulty against certain club fighters even though historically, Norris has handled many with the greatest of ease.

But didn't a clubfighter named Kevin Howard actually retire Ray Leonard in his prime?? Wasn't it the king of clubfighters named Lalonde who drove Leonard to the canvas just by grazing the back of his head?

The lopsided result of the fight (Norris-Leonard) came about because 1) Leonard couldn't intimidate him and 2) Norris hurt leonard early and sent him into a shell.

The same happened in the Richard Sandoval-Jeff Chandler fight. If you haven't seen this classic upset, I recommend you get a hold of it because it is a masterful display and brings out my point clearly: If you hurt your man early and keep putting the pressure on, no matter how good you were (or in leonard's case, thought you were) if you cannot stand the pressure your opponent is putting on you, you won't have time to think, keep the opponent at the right distance, look for the right openings which is based on how Leonard selected his opponents-they all must have these attributes or it was no go.

And if you do thrive on putting combinations together on a typical slow moving, stationary targets the way Leonard did, then facing a non stop moving target like Norris who never stops bouncing around can mean biiiiiiiig trouble!

Anyway, Norris thrashed Leonard in the contest so we know how they match up in a direct comparison, there's no use trying to cover it up or deny it the way SuzieQ or Robbi do.
