And if he wasn't, what great heavyweight has better cut resistance? I can't remember Ali being cut, though i may be mistaken. It seems that this is a great, cut-resistant shape: :yep This content is protected
Ali was cut against Foster, thats it though. He did swell up pretty bad after the first Frazier fight, but other then that I don't recall any fights where he had significant swelling. In answer to your question, I don't recall Holmes being cut at all but then again I haven't seen that many of his fights.
Ali was cut against Foster and Holmes, that was it. I think Holmes may have had a cut in the McCall fight, I know he was pretty swollen. His eye was everything but cut in the Williams fight.
Holmes only got cut as he passed into his mid 30s, at an age when facial oils tend to begin decreasing. (Peanut oil is a highly effective skin protectant.)
He was badly cut from a clash of heads against Bonecrusher Smith ... so much so that for a while there was a concern his undefeated streak would end on a bum note ...
I may be wrong[I often am ] ,but I think Ali may have been cut against Bugner in the second fight, against Holmes he had abrasions under his eyes, not real skin tears,I think against Foster he had a real cut that required stitches.Pacheco talking about it said Bill Cosby came into the dressing room after the fight and said "you aint pretty no more ,bad man done cut your face".
It was hard to tell. His face was all bruised up. There was blood, but you may be right, they might have been skin abrasions.
