   I remember Holyfield wanting it but he wasn't really relevant, and I don't think Wlad wanted to fight him purely because it would make him look bad. Holy was too old to be in the ring with Wlad !

   Exactly. Holy wanted the payday to pay for his dozen kids and Wlad saw shades of Holmes / Ali. IMHO Wlad shellacking the remains of Holy would have done his reputation more harm than good.
