Imagine two impotent 80 year olds trying to bang a supermodel.

It was match where they were being defensive and they had to work to land punches. It was very similar to the Hearns/Leonard fights at times, but then the Hearns/Leonard fights usually opened up and turned into wars. Those fights with Hearns and Leonard had more nuances and changes than Hopkins/Jones.

Two American legends strutting their stuff, it was electrifying. The only thing missing was the random switching from orthodox to southpaw.

It was frustrating to watch an almost live Roy Jones not throwing and in the other corner Hopkins acting like he was sat on top of a grenade! Overall, the fight was a disapointment.

It was all about a couple of old guys whose options are drying out by the minute, taking advantage of fans who are desperate for quality professional boxing.

On Jones' part, that's exactly what it was. On Bernard's, not so much.

I thought Philadelphia produced tough fighters - Hopkins would not last 5 minutes in a boxing gym in South London.
He got a 5 minutes rest with Calzaghe because he told the ref a low blow landed - Weekes handled it better but because there was rabbit punches landing had to give Hopkins benefit of doubt. These fans who actually believe Hopkins is P4P top 3 or 4 are so deluded , even Hopkins knows he is finished which is why his last two opponents have been so poor. He is/was a great defensive fighter but so overrated and never did beat another great middleweight though his performance against Tito was pure class
