    With Gamboa and Solis?

First of all Solis, looked out of shape, reckless, and his chin looked kinda shaky.

I'm not sure what the deal with this guy is ... when he was in the amateurs his physique looked alot better. He so sloppy now and he takes some unneccessary shots ... kinda like a HW Cotto ... its only a matter of time before this guy gets knocked the f*** out.
And unlike other the division a loss on the way up in the HW division sends you to the back of the bus. He didn't look all that fast either ...
I personally don't see this guy doing anything on the elite level.
He would have to do some serious working out ... he doesn't look like he would be able to go 12 if needed to, hell he didn't even look like he could go 10.

Gamboa is a disaster ready to happen ... another knock down from a bum ... when is this guy going to get some damn discipline?

But one good thing about Gamboa is that he will sooner or later win a world title ... I can't say the same thing for Solis.

I agree on Solis, based on that performance, and his recent performances in general. However, I do think he's got good handspeed and boxing ability from his amateur days. But he definitely needs a lot more dedication and fitness to show it more effectively. As it is, he ain't going anywhere fast, I dunno how he escaped Cuba with that stamina, its a long swim :bbb

I think you are a little harsh on Gamboa. Yes, he's still reckless and lacking concentration, but he still has all the ability in the world. Don't agree about his chin, he wasn't hurt. He needs to stop falling over though, could cost him 10-8 rounds in close fights.

I only saw Gamboa but altough he won I thought it was a early stoppage and most importantly,he doesn't learn from previous mistakes. He still lunges in with his head before his feet,he leaves himself open,he comes in from too far away etc.Thing is he always does it,doesn't reallt stop doing it until he gets KDed.Even after he still did it but Gonzalez was gunshy and didn't pull the trigger.

TFFP ... flash knock downs eventually turns into him getting knocked out ...

I do think that he will be a titlist and would make for huge fights to come based on his style and his amateur pedigree ... as long as he stays undefeated ... on the elite level we'll just have to see.

The feather and superfeather division is stocked with talent and as long as he can float between the two he should be good.

GAMBOA is very special, he remind me of Meldrick Taylor. Who care about going down if he got up each time ? Cotto too can be rock from 1 punch and still he is top20 p4p or so. And ive never seen Gamboa hurt yet, only flash.

    He has unreal ability.

This is the 3rd time in a row he suffered a knock down ... he needs to get it together ...

Solis is not a future HW champion ... I don't even think he could hang with Haye in a 12 round fight.

I wouldn't say stocked with talent. There are some good fighters, but a lot of titles are good to go as far as Gamboa is concerned. Steve Luevano never impressed anybody in his life. Nicky Cook, competent, but Gamboa would ruthlessly chop him to pieces. Cassius..who? Sure as hell ain't Clay. Oscar Larios is way past his best.

He will surely make a world champion, before he even has to face an elite fighter.

Looking at the rankings, he would be looking at Larios or John most likely, but he's in a good position for Luevano too.

Solis needs to lose about 40 ****ing pounds. He just does, he is carrying around a ton of fat and is slowing him down in all areas.

Gamboa is insanely talented, and exiciting as hell to watch, but his agression turns into him getting reckless, which turns into him getting off balance, which equals him getting knocked down. He obviously has a chin, as I have never seen him hurt, but against a strong counter puncher, someone is going to take advantage of his defensive lapses and hurt him.

I find it ironic that he fights more controlled after getting knocked down. If he could fight like that the whole fight he would be better off.

It would be near impossible to not be impressed with Gamboa's flash/speed. However, the defensive lapses that have him falling over need to get fixed.

I agree. I've only seen about 5 of his fights but I think he was knocked down in every damn one of them. Unless he quites showboating and improves his defense it's only going to be a matter of time, before he doesn't get up.

He's got all the talent in the world, I just hope he focuses more on his shortcomings cause he doesn't seem to be dealing with them.

I watched both fights, and for starters they both won and won with TKO's.

Secondly gamboa did what he usually does...gets knocked down. Therefore he does not dismiss the chinny theory from fans!! And yes they are tough competition for his pro experience but he's had so much amatuer eperience that warrents it. I think the decision to drop to 126 was because he was to avoid the punchers at 130.

Solis, yeah he looked out of shape man, imagine what he could do in shape man.

WTF the guys a professional ****ing athlete!! If he cant be in shape before a title or approaching a title when the **** will he loose 30lbs!!!????

He's 6"1 and heavier than wlad for **** sake! He's like arreola, oh yeah he got the KO even tho he was out of shape. **** that, hes to fat and lazy to get in shape and put on a good fight. Thats why i like HAYE, yeah he's a chinny **** but **** he's got muscles and balls. The sooner the HW division gets that the better.

Even if HAYE gets KO'd at least he injected excitement and stirred it up!!!
