    Archie dropped Rocky and went to the neutral corner. Marciano walked to the opposite corner while this was going on, much in the way Holmes got up and walked away after knockdowns, but the ref turned Rocky straight into Archie and let the fight go on.

    There was No attempt to start a count. No count received. No extra time.

    just stop.

    Marciano did not get a 8 count. The fight film shows that.

    Yes the fighter would have benefited from an unfair advantage, but the referee would still be entirely within their rights.

    Marciano started for a neutral corner believing he was about to get a standing count this is from a taped interview with Marciano conducted by Peter Wilson, the boxing writer for the Daily Mirror,I do not have time this morning to post the relevant info as I am driving to Suffolk in a minute.I never mentioned ,or suggested there was any extra time added.

    Never said he got an 8 count.
    Q.Why did the refree get between the fighters when Rocky arose?
    The standing count was waved for title fights,and once on his feet he was a legitimate target for Moore's punches.

    the film shows what it shows. Marciano simply walked toward a corner while Archie was being taken to a neutral corner. The interview is irrelevant. But Enjoy Suffolk.
