Let's be real, Fury was just stylistically all wrong for him especially with the kronk style. Wilder has taken a career ending victory. Maybe in hindsight, he should have swallowed his pride and rebuild himself taking more winnable fights instead against opponents who were stylically more favourable for him
Money grab, so not really. And despite his score as a human being now being at an all-time low, he did much better as most expected after the 2nd fight. With a poorly conditioned Fury of course, but still. So, I expect him to being able to milk at least one (relatively) big money fight out of this after disposing of another stiff like he's used to.
Nah. Wilder legit thought he could beat Fury, if he didnt he wouldnt have fought the way he did for the first 4 rounds. He changed his game up, but came up short, but he gave it his all and that shows where he was mentally for this fight.
What options did he really have? Without the WBC belt his marketability was greatly compromised. Was he really going to go back to fighting some nobody for relative peanuts in a non title fight? The man is an attention seeker, he wants the big stage I don't think it was ever on the cards that he would go back and rebuild, especially at this late stage of his career when what few fights he has left need to be his most lucrative because the paydays will soon dry up. Even now I expect him to call out AJ, Whyte, maybe he fights Ruiz Jr in a US PPV, but that's as small as he goes, he won't be fighting Helenius or Frank Sanchez in an attempt to rebuild, he'll only want big fights.
No. He performed out of his skin in my opinion and needed this for himself. He had good moments of success so credit to Scott and Wilder. They were just bettered and battered by a superior fighter, but Wilder can still have a last hurrah.
