No like said above Williams froze the division and make it unresonable to have Margarito/Cotto for it just as this fight isn't resonable. Cotto had beaten Shane at the time and Shane still has a lost to Cotto so if the winner of this fight ends up fighting Cotto or Jennings in the summer then it should be for the belt. I doubt Berto would fight Cotto/Clottey/Margarito before fighting Collazo. Too bad Clottey doesn't have a big fight lined up.

Arum is a self serving *****, absolutely, but I can't agree that any fighter should have to suffer for the choices or misdeeds of his promoter. That's plain evil not to mention unfair.

PBF did, you can make an argument and say AM did, and as we see Clottey is going through the same thing.

Why was that a mistake ?

BTW, IMO, the RING belt could very well have been on the line tomorrow night.

First and third meet the criteria set out by RING.

However, I understand the reasoning (Williams).

RING's decision should shut up some of the critics who maintained that Oscar's purchase of the publication would wreck its credibility.

What antics? Offering Margo a career high payday and a shot at redemption?

Ok, fine. BUT if Mosley wins, and demands Cotto, and beats him, RING Magazine needs to recognize him immediatley, or that belt is worth as much as the plastic WWF belt I wear sometimes after I get out of the shower.

I figure if Mosley wins, he should get the belt right away (Williams notwithstanding).

However, it illustrates that your friend Oscar, contrary to your dire predictions, seems to be staying out of the day-to-day running of his new publication.

BTW, I'll go a ways out on a limb here and pick Shane to decision Margo.

I personally would have no issue with the winner of this fight being considered the best welterweight in the world. Until The Ring is invested with the power to force fighters into a tournament format, we could go for years debating who "deserves" their number one ranking.

Putting the decision on hold for a guy who's been fighting as high as middleweight just seems silly.

BTW, I'll GUARANTEE you had Oscar beaten Manny, he would have commissioned the RING to make him a special Red White and Blue RING Championship, designating his ass as the P4P Champ. Cover of the RING Magazine, and probably a 9.95 special issue commissioned in his honor.

He came begging for a Pavlik fight, got it for his asking price and then disappeared. Brilliant move by Goosen. Now he can claim anything he wants since Arum won't deal with the guy after that.

Man, who knows the truth about that story? All I know is that he's still asking for the fight. Just like Winky turning down Pav, just like Pav turning down RJJ, just like Pav turning down CalZ, who knows the truth about all that stuff? Bottom line, Arum is a f_cked up promoter!

I don't believe anything that comes out of that snakes Arum's mouth. He'll say everything and anything.
