Wrong. Reid and Tsypko were better wins

    Overhyped.

The mark of a true Champ is how you bounce back after defeat...Jeff didnt bounce back.

Ignorance if you didnt know who he was then, because at that time he had beaten

    Eubank
    Reid
    Starie
    Woodhall
    Veit twice
    Sheika
    Mkertchyan
    Brewer
    Mitchell

And had Hopkins, Echoles and Tate back out against him

I wouldn't call a 2 round No Contest a great win. Especially considering he lost the rematch in everyone's opinion except the judges.

Oh please, save that poor list for yourself to brag about. That's a **** poor list and you know it and please don't compare him to Hopkins dumbass, at least Hopkins unified ALL belts when Calzaghe was impressing you beating can-quality fighters. Didn't you open a thread comparing Hopkins' resume with Sturm?, might want to open another one comparing Sturm's resume to Calzaghe and I assure you you'll get more serious responses.

    Heavy hitters ruin careers...not slappers.

Jeff is a "never was" plain and simple.

Calzaghe unified all the belts in his division also and beat Hopkins. Those fighters being natural SMWs give a better resume than Hopkins MW resume. Do you think anyone on Hopkins MW resume would have been able to beat Eubank or Reid and most wouldnt have beaten Mitchell. Also remember Hopkins was just C Brewers sparring partner

I think you can say a little of both...People built Lacy like he was the next Tyson to figure he's a very limited fighter...He was also outclassed by the better man that night!

IMO, I was never big on Lacy and thought he was somewhat a limited fighter...With that being said...I honestly didnt think Joe would beat him the way he did.

Eubank was past it, coming off a loss and two exhibition fights when he fought Calzaghe, so PLEASE, save that bull**** for delusional fools like yourself. Did Calzaghe attempt to unify the belts his self when he was impressing you beating the likes of Kebab Salem, Pudwell, Achira, Veit, Mitchell and other straight-out bums?. It was both Lacy and Kessler who came out of nowhere with serious plans to unify that made those fights, if they didn't demand it, I assure you Calzaghe would have settled having rematches with Pudwell and Brewer.

It's insulting enough that his biggest win by far in Kessler has lost to Ward who had 20 fights going in. Calzaghe had 43 when he fought Kessler. Do you honestly consider that joke of a resume comparable with anything serious?, if so, then I'm done discussing with fools. When you feel forced to bring up a past it Eubank as a serious win then you have major mental issues. You also know that his "big time" win over Eubank was for a vacant paper title, the same title he made a career defending impressing the likes of you.

Answer me this. Why didn't it make sense to fight champion Roy Jones back when Jones was in his prime because traveling made "no sense" yet it did make sense when Jones was shot for over 5 years when he wasn't a champion?. That was, by the way, Calzaghe's signature and finale.
