Adam Pollack addresses them in his Jeffries book ,he doesn't believe a word of them.

There are too many contradictory accounts of how the fight ended, for any of them to really be credible.

Whatever the case, Fitzsimmons would not have thrown the fight by beating Jeffries to an unrecognizable pulp for eight rounds, and then laying down.

That narrative would be far too complex to stage manage effectively.

I've posted how enraged Fitz was at being accused of taking a dive in this fight.
I would imagine Jeffries ,after displaying extraordinary courage and fortitude in the face of such horrific punishment ,would have been pretty pissed off too!
