I don't think he was "shot"..but his style did change
slightly from the "lean & mean" Frazier to more like
    a tank throwing heavy punches.

He only lost to Ali & Foreman.

Plus, George bouncing him around on the canvas didn't
    do him any good.

That's my feeling. I've just heard people say (and maybe they're romanticizing his win a bit) that he gave it all in the first fight and was damaged goods ever since.

But Joe responded with "They lied to you".

And Ali's final quote "That was as close to death that I can get".

Very true. As a previous poster said, I'm sure George banging him up didn't help.

Plus, Joe took his share of punishment even when he won. Going toe to toe with Jerry Quarry, for example, must have taken something out of him.

also age happens 2 fraizer took close to a year off after fotc, short fighters like fraizer and tyson have short primes often

Yes, I think Frazier was never the same after Ali I. He gave it everything he had, hit his peak that night, and was obviously a different fighter after that.

"Now this might shock and amaze ya, but I will destroy Joe Frayzha!"

Frazier kicked Ali's butt good but left his core behind in doing so.

On the other hand, he began to coast after conquering his mountain.

He would never be the same.

No, no ****ing way. It is an excuse to justify his lose to Foreman.

Frazier turned pro what, 1965? He was only 27 years old and only had 26 fight by then. If he was shot, the Pac must also be considered shot after the 1st Morales fight.

I am sick on this **** going on here in ESB that when a fighter loses, he must be shot or green. There is just no way a prime fighter loses. :patsch :patsch

I'm not sure if Frazier was physcially " shot " after the 1971 Ali fight. Dare I say he lost some of his smoke? Indeed, Frazier started to put on some weight after the 1971 Ali fight.

He may not have been at his absolut prime (I hate all this prime stuff...who defines it anyway???), which actually may have been prior to to the FOTC if you argue from a pure physical peak. But Joe was still a monster and a force to be reckoned with...I think it was after Foreman that Joe began any substantial decline.

Watching the first Frazier Foreman fight, Joe fights terribly and stand about six inches from Big George's extended fist. Regardless of georges monster skills, Joe seems like he is thinking about what he was doing later.

    Plus, Joe's eyesight was shot.

Frazier was far from shot, but he started a slow decline from there.
