    • The most overrated fighter in this millenium - Joe the Juggernaut Joyce
    • Former number 2, with only Tyson Fury above him (Usyk didnt defeat AJ second time)
    • This forum said - nobody beats him, ofc AJ/Wilder fans stuck to their own but most of the people said he beats them aswell - all this from 1 win against Parker
    • Unification downfall - Usyk dissrespected while Fury and Joyce had a laugh in ring after Chisora 4 (I think) - the NEXT opponent for Tyson Fury, a big fight
    • Then came Zhang, a guy AJ beat, forgoten 39yo heavyweight that was top 20 by boxrec and low on all organizations (10+ rank) who gained traction after almost wining against heavily avoided boogyman Hrgovic in IBF final eliminator
    • Joe Joyce smelled blood, knowing he beat Hrgovic already - Zhang must be easy prey
    • Zhang K.O. outclassed tehnicaly, phisicaly, psyhological - trinity of defeat
    • Now Joyce career is on the line, he will come 110% it is the final line - if he beats Zhang he becomes number 3 official, can he do it?

He was overrated after the Parker win for sure, but most overrated of all time, nah not even close and even after the Parker win most wouldn't of favoured him over Fury, Usyk or Joshua. Nobody was hailing Joyce as a P4P top fighter like Broner before Maidana spanked him and made his crawl back to his dressing room in tears. Broner was far more overrated.

He was underrated before which is why people over compensated and started overrating him, because many picked him to lose vs Parker or at least win in a competitive fight, but instead he dominated Parker. People who didn't rate him before suddenly jumped on the hype train and lost all reason, the Foreman and Tyson threads were ridiculous. Even as a long time fan of Joyce, I never thought he was on their level.

I still think he's a top 10 level heavyweight, it's just Zhang was a bad style match up for him and the real first hard hitting counter puncher he had faced which is always problematic for a guy that can be caught. As good as his chin is, a good counter puncher can catch you with shots you don't see coming or don't have time to brace for.

How exactly could an elite olympian, who most people thought might be a contender be massively overrated?

Not all time, just last 23 years. He was gloryfied to te sky, you cant deny that. It is amusing that you call Zhang a bad style match up and try to defend Joyce, as you attacked and bellitled Hrgovic for underperforming. Do you still think Joyce is better boxer than Hrgovic, given how badly Zhang outclassed him, which he couldnt do with Hrgovic. Stupid question, of course you do.

Joyce is a competent highly dangerous fighter that has some glaring limitations. Those limitations were exposed by Zhang who is an ideal fighter to take advantage of his lack of defence and speed. Most other people will be working uphill against Joyce.

    Hugely overrated.

He’s mid-30’s already and time is running out for him. Younger and better guys are on their way.

Now they are looking for excuses for Joyce's poor performance like "Zhang's style was wrong for him" Zhang is simply a better fighter, Joyce didn't even impress in the fight with Takam, Hrgovic was spit on after the fight because of his poor performance and unlike Joyce he at least succeeded survive all 12 rounds...

It is like double standards, imagine if Hrgovic lost SD, there would be no calls for rematch or says of a close fight, his career would have ended right there.

You sound like you have an industrial sized chip on your shoulder about this.

Why don't you take a chill pill, STFU and wait for the result of the rematch, then revisit this thread?

Question is, who's qualified to rate a boxer the caliber of Joe Joyce? Who's boxed at that level? Or coached even, at that level? Anybody on this forum? No? Then maybe you don't know dicke about the level of Joyce.
