Yeah, I was saying that Bakole vs Joyce would show how good can Joyce hold with heavy puncher.

I really want to see Gassiev vs Joyce next if possible or someone with similar power

All fighters will lose eventually if they take risks and take competitive fights. As for being exposed, I wouldn't say Joyce has been exposed. It's been obvious for some time now what Joyce's strengths and weaknesses are. This is just the first time in the pros that someone has been able to exploit them enough to get the win.

He can certainly do better than last night in a rematch. Whether he can do enough to overcome Zhang and get the win is debatable. A lot will depend on Zhang's gas tank and how he reacts to Joyce if Joyce changes things up.

I wrote the below in a post on another thread that asked what could Joyce do differently:

Not stand like a statue in front of Zhang. Joyce isn't going to turn into a technical fighter, not at his age. However, he can make a few changes that won't be too hard to implement. Get some upper body movement to help slip the jab/straight left. Joyce doesn't have the reactions to slip a shot, but if he does a poor man's Joe Frazier bobbing and weaving (much like Derek Chisora) when closing the distance, he just may get lucky and slip the odd shot. He needs to be in perpetual motion. Once he's inside, let his shots go, tie up Zhang like Brighton Bomber said, rinse and repeat. This shouldn't be too difficult as Joe did get inside of Zhang several times during their fight.

It's hardly the sweet science, but given his lack of ability, slowness and age, it's the best he's got. Going in his favour, he has the engine to do this all night long. He will take shots, but he has a great chin. Zhang hurt him, but he couldn't even knock him off his feet despite teeing off on a static Joe for 6 rounds. He just has to hope that his eye holds up. Not being a static target will help avoid this. Zhang could literally hit Joe anywhere he wanted on his face as Joe just stood motionless in front of him in punching range for large parts of the fight. Joe's tactics were terrible last night. He was taking up positions you'd expect a counter puncher with great reflexes to take up; staying just in range to tease your opponent to throw.

If he does this, increasing the pressure as the rounds go by, he may be able to wear the big man down. Zhang's stamina isn't great, but Joe needs to put it on him. Last night, he largely let Zhang fight at his own pace, so Zhang still looked good in round 6. Pressure him, step back out of range or tie him up when Joe needs a breather, then put it on him again.

Imo he was just waiting to be exposed. Joe is a tough durable guy, but incredibly slow, and he is not in possession of devastating ko power. His lumbering go ahead style will work with smaller guys who cant crack that much but against guys his size or bigger who are mobile, have decent pop, and mobility, he’s gonna struggle badly. I always felt Fury would have beaten him , as would AJ and Wilder to. He’s made some good money for himself and came a lot farther in his career then he would have with that style if he wasn’t as big as he is.

Get hit in the face by 280 pound punchers is not an option for anyone in boxing.

Even if you're made of steel there is always a weakness. An eye socket or jaw will break. The skin will tear.

Why the art is summarized as hit and not get hit.

He had gotten used to slaughtering fighters smaller than him and gotten himself and us into a delusion that he was unstoppable. Good thing Zhang has woken everybody up.

You can’t be that easy to hit with flush power shots at HW.

Still, he has had a strong career and made some money. Probably has one more loss before retirement. Needs to be matched better.
