He was in my opinion the best combination puncher of all time at heavyweight and perhaps even at any weight. He effectively utilized both his left and right hands and could hurt a fighter with any punch he landed ie., a jab, hook, cross, uppercut, etc. his timing, pinpoint accuracy and precision was something that you only see once in a couple of lifetimes.

Does anyone agree or disagree with this ?

True. But did he effectively utilize them as well as Louis did ?

    I agree

His handspeed was close to Ali and his power was only slightly behind Foreman

He was the best combination puncher in heavyweight history. Only Tyson comes close.

I love reading the article every now and then, even though i have read it a dozen times. Monte is a great writer.

My favourite Louis combinations are the ones he landed on Conn, Buddy Baer and the triple left hook vs Max Baer.

Louis or Tyson. Can't go wrong with either pick.

WladKlit also had two-fisted power with the big right hand, and murderous left hook that could be doubled up or thrown off the jab. Once Manny taught him to use his jab, he had a real arsenal. Wladdy gets the bronze.

Marciano was famous for the right, but sometimes knocked guys out with the hook.

Lewis was underrated, primarily known for the right, with a brutal uppercut, but he had a useful hook.

    Dempsey had two-fisted power.

I'd agree Goo. He is the benchmark for sure in what you are putting forth and probably for any division. There's a reason he topped The Ring's 100 Greatest Punchers of All Time list.

Ali was certainly a two-fisted heavyweight.

    Wlad, at his best, was.

    Jack Johnson was certainly.

Wlad was fine when nothing was coming back ,when his opponent threw punches he tended to shut up shop. Louis is the best combination puncher I've seen of the big guys.

Feel like Louis gets under rated drastically on this forum. He was a bad man and I agree with the post. Although plenty of guys had two fisted power they didn’t throw it as well.
