Comfortable 8-4 win for AJ. Cards were too wide but Parker wasn't robbed of a win/draw. He just didn't do enough in the end.
watched it this morning with the sound off came up with 8-4 or (9-4 giving the first a 10-10) parker was throwing and hitting nothing and was getting picked off with the jab and backed up even on some of the closer rounds you have to give them to AJ on effective striking and ring control. i will give the round to someone who lands 20 shots at 60% hits over someone who lands 20 shots at 30% and is being forced back. Being the more active counts for nothing if you are not hitting with anything AJ controlled the range and you have to give the close rounds to AJ for this fact
I like both guys. I thought though I would be rooting for AJ though, but after about the 4th round I found myself rooting for Parker instead. The reason? Because it was starting to look like it was gonna be a one-sided fight, and Parker didn't look relaxed anymore like he did in the 1st round, I felt he was getting disheartened as he couldn't get through, and AJ was showing good ring generalship and picking him off, so I guess I wanted to see the upset at that point, or at least see Parker make a decent fight of it. As it turned out he got a bit better in the 6th round I think, but it wasn't enough. You can't really view a fight like that and have Parker the winner, and as it turns out from the poll, not many people think Parker was robbed anyway. But I guess this is boxing, and it can depend on what lens you view the fight with, personally though I think, for the few who had Parker winning that, they may as well where a big sign over their heads that say "I'm incapable of being objective". But that's just my opinion. I suppose none of us can ever truly be objective, and sometimes you can start reaching for justification to give a guy the fight. The ref was terrible though, I don't think he was biased, just incompetent, and it turned out his incompetency favoured AJ most the the time (but not every time). But you still gotta judge the fight by what you see, not what you think might have happened were it not for the ref.
