Won't be a question that's posed much after the rematch...

Huge robbery. He out outlanded him in 11 rounds, and Jack Catterall landed 50+ more punches, 120 to 73. More power punches, he also throw a lot more, way more active.

    This was 50000% daylight robbery.
Anyone claiming otherwise needs a brain check. It was 9-3 or 8-4 type of fight. Same fight as AJ vs Usyk to be fair.

Also i wanna clarify one more things, as i see a lot of people gets wrong. Competitive fight it's one thing, and when you fight at highest level, the fights always going to be competitive, but a close fight is completely different thing.

Also there is both competitive and close matches, where there is a clear robbery. The fight maybe razer close, but still be a robbery, simply because there is no way in hell for example you can give the one guy 6 or 7 rounds.
114-111 and 113-112 was an impossible cards, and was a mockery of the sport.

Another thing is what actually happen in the ring and the referee intervention that put the weight into some of the boxer direction. The point deduction was absolutely b.c. which was another robbery.

Big fight and it was pretty obvious to me, Jack won. I’m a Taylor fan and have to admit he lost. Glad he had the guts to give him a rematch. Taylor is a champion and I expect a better fight next time. He didn’t run away after a close fight like so many others. Teo Lopez comes to mind.

I personally had Jack winning and was dissapointed with the decision....however it was no robbery. It was a close, ugly fight.

The word robbery is being thrown around every other week these days...if you wanna see a robbery watch Pernell school Chavez and get a draw from it.

Currently Taylor is scheduled to rematch Catterall - Nov 26th mooted date.

He has vacated belts as well to get the rematch so think the last point is offbase.

In terms of the fight, I had Catterall winning, but it wasn't a robbery perse - Catterall really fell off in the championship rounds, holding like an octopus and maybe should have had more points deducted.

We will see what happens in the rematch - I can't see Taylor being as 'off' but can't see it being a great fight either

When I watched live I thought it was a robbery.

Watching it back later, it was just a very questionable decision with extremely favourable judging in favour of Taylor, but not an outright robbery.

It's not nearly as bad as Ritson Vs Vazquez

Yeh that was bad but bearing in mind Catterall should be the undisputed champion of the world it`s a bigger robbery

I think Taylor should have lost, but I think people have sold his overall accomplishments short since this fight. Sometimes you have a bad night, and sometimes someone has your number.

I've only watched it once but I had Catterall winning. Can't stand his ugly spoiler octopus style though

I agree this is how i scored it when i watched it.

    Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall

    1 Catterall
    2 Taylor
    3 Catterall
    4 Catterall
    5 Catterall
    6 Catterall
    7 Taylor
    8 Catterall 10-8 knockdown
    9 Taylor
    10 Taylor 10-8 point deduction
    11 9-9 point deduction
    12 Taylor

    113-112 Catterall

So i haven't been on here for awhile i decided to watch this fight, as i heard alot of people saying this fight was a robbery.

In my view i don't really see why people are making such an outrage about this, in my view this was a close fight. Catteral for certain had the better of it early on, he was landing all the eye catching punches. And was slicker than Taylor who looked frustrated and couldn't really land anything of note.

But after Taylor got knocked down i thought he made a strong rally down the stretch, to make the fight very close. It wasn't pretty or effective but Taylor was the aggressor, and Catteral for me was too defensive down the stretch and got outworked.

I thought the point deductions were absolute garbage, i saw no reason for the point deductions what so ever. And it just made the fight harder to score for the judges for no reason, Taylor undeservedly got a 10-8 round out of it, and then on the flip side was hard done by as Taylor got an even round in a round he won.

Overall it was a fight of two halves and i don't agree that this was a robbery, that word gets thrown around too much at times. A fight as close as this which had multiple point deductions and a knockdown certainly isn't a robbery, a controversial fight yes but certainly no robbery.

Well a bookies refunded all bets for Jack Catterall, not to mention we had a poll on here that was so lopsided I don’t think I’ve seen one similar.

It’s only a close fight if you give Taylor essentially the last four rounds, which is exactly what Taylor fans do.

Maybe I’ll watch it again, but Catterall outlanded Taylor in power punches and jabs in 9/11/12.
