He certainly wasn't no real world champion as ruiz proved as soon as he left the safety of the uk

He has the best Résumé at HW and was clearly the number 1.
He was a real belt holder just like Wilder

He is on the same level as Wladimir Klitschko in early 40s, which is enough to be an alphabet champion in this era.

This massively underrating Joshua thing since he lost is really taking the buzz out of cheering Ruiz on in the rematch.

I’m really looking forward to this rematch more than any other heavyweight fight this year, based on the first fight it should be really good, but I have no idea which fighter I will be cheering on at the time. There does not seem to be any underdog in this fight, from reading these forums Ruiz is a close favourite, but the bookies have Joshua as close favourite. I really enjoy cheering on the underdog, but with this fight I might have to wait a couple of rounds to pick a side.

That’s the former IBO champion of the world you’re talking about. You better check yourself.

That's the way things go around here. Lose one fight, and you've been "exposed." Mind you, Ruiz found holes in his game, and fully exploited them. It was a very good win, and a great boxing moment.

Now Joshua absolutely was being overrated around here, and was the recipient of some rather obnoxious hype, so I get where it's coming from, but that still doesn't mean that it makes any real sense to completely trash what he did accomplish.

well to be fair itsnot looking good, but he does have a unifying win over prime Parker too, which counts in his favour. Hes had at least one top level win, so the answerr is NO.

But hes also not had as many real world opponents as his record suggests, same as wilder. Outside Parker, he has very few.....just like Wilder (but Wilder has less).

So if Joshua is an int belt holder, thenWilder is more so.

In what sense, explain your post....

He has the best resumé of any HW boxer and thus was a deserving champion, if you disagree feel free to dissect any other active heavyweights resumé and outline how it compares

So you're saying Floyd was never a real world champion as he never left the safety of the US? Neither was Mike Tyson after he got knocked out in Tokyo?

Evander "Evan FIelds" Holyfield went 2-2 overseas.
Ali had to use the infamous torn glove trick not to get stopped in his first fight overseas.
Hopkins was lucky to get away with a draw in his first fight outside the US (down twice).
RJJ got knocked out in his first 2 fights overseas.

And of course a lot of US fighters never even fought outside of their borders, some are even anxious to leave their own state.
