Was Joshua vs Klitschko that big? How does it compare to Thrilla in Manilla or Rumble in the Jungle

Hey, I'm one of the few people on here that don't mind being corrected, especially when it's something goofy that I should've caught. No harm done :duh:jaja-no:

I think Thrilla in Manilla and Rumble in the Jungle are mostly known in America among boxing fans only. I lived in Europe before and no one even heard about it. I live in Canada now and no one here even follows boxing.

For a passing of the torch kind of fight it was huge, but still that´s all it was. Excellent fight tho, high level boxing with plenty of drama and danger both ways.

in germany we only had 3 tv channels on october 30th 1974.
one of them broadcasted a very popular talk show with german-french actress romy schneider (among others) [you can find it on youtube].
one of the moderators interrupted the talk, when the message came in, that muhammad ali had regained the championship vs. george foreman.
that´s how important it was in germany.

there´s a detailed german wikipedia site about the "rumble in the jungle": https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumble_in_the_Jungle .
i can´t point you to the german wikipedia site about the joshua vs. klitschko fight, simply because there is none.

a documentary movie was made about foreman vs. ali 21 years after the event ("when we were kings") [among other documentaries].
a whole book was written exclusively about "the rumble ... " by award-winning american author norman mailer ("the fight") - i got the german translation in my library. i know about at least one other book (by another author) about the 1974 showdown.

another book was written about the "thrilla in manila" by american author mark kram, jr. ("ghosts of manila).

do you think there will be another internationally acclaimed documentary movie about the joshua vs. klitschko bout in ca. 2038?
how many books do you know, that were written exclusively and only about the same fight?
