I'm not one for comparing fights or fighters from other eras against each other, it can never be proven so it is kind of a waste of time, but this fight deserves to be mentioned as a great fight. Had everything, skill, action, momentum shifts, knockdowns and great suspense. It really got my attention in the 5th round when I realized that Joshua was hurt, even blurted to self "he's hurt Wlad". After that I was mesmerized by the action til the finish. I was completely entertained
Well first of all it was a very good fight but 50/50 fights always are,at no point could you say who would win, hardly any holding and both guys hurt and carried on so of course it was great figh I'm surprised you need to ask. That said you are right about the state of boxing and Teddy Atlas said the same thing cause over the years we've had some fights that just don't even resemble boxing,Andre Ward for me is one of these in that he wrestles for twelve rounds and at no point does he ever look to hurt his opponent
It was a brilliant fight but I'd never try and make out that it's better than Ali v Foreman,Ali V Frazier as two HW examples, some of the great Mexican fights are amazing and what about Eubank v Benn how good were those?
Probably the best Heavyweight fight I've seen since at least Liakhovich vs Brewster. Admittedly I haven't seen every Heavyweight fight in the last 11 years.
