Was Judah dehydrated, getting old, or just fought a good fighter?

As much criticism as Yoel Judah gets as a trainer, how many fights/rounds have we seen him give Zab that very same advice?

Nice post. I have more respect for him now. I wonder how he would do with Nazim in his corner?

I just think he took this new plan of "boxing" and staying patient too far. He was just jabbing from the outside and his corner kept telling him that he was doing well. When he would counter he still looked sharp and fast, but he never followed up. At least he's not a punk anymore, that was nice to see.

I like Judah ,but he is finished very gun shy and can't take a punch and in this business no chin no win.

I didn't see the fight, but I thought Eddie Mustafa Muhammad was Zab's new trainer?

Zab HAD great skills and excellent physical attributes. However, he wasted that by being so mentally weak...

Now he looks to have gained a significant amount of composure and has his head on straight; but his skills appear to have diminished...

He may still be able to produce against an elite boxer in his division; but it looks less likely after that incredibly close fight against Matthysse.

That being said; those who are saying that Zab Judah was never that good obviously didn't see him when he was younger or are playing the role of the revisionist historian.

I thought Maythesse looked good, he started slow but I'm sure he was nervous and a little intimidated by the magnitude of the fight (even though it wasn't that big), but once he got going, I thought he looked really good, he's a helluva body puncher and had some pretty good zip on them. He could have won the fight, he didn't, but he was right there and if he learns from this experience I could see him being a legit contender and making some noise in this division.

Perhaps all of the above, but certainly the last part.

Matthysse is a solid B+ fighter, and he won (or preserved a draw at the very least). On the ten point must system scoring round by round there is no way to justify a Judah victory - even a narrow one.

Judah has a Glass Jaw, no stamina, no heart etc. I was laughing so hard last night at Kellerman slobbing all over Judah's nuts in a bad performance.

    It deff couldn't hurt.

I truely, like most everyone, believe his father is holding Zab back. Zab needs a guy exactly like Nazim at this point in his career.

Zab's chin doesn't hold up to well late in fights, but I was completely surprised he made it to the final bell.

Once he went down in the 10th I thought I was watching the Cotto fight all over again.
