No, it was not competitive. I thought Kessler won a couple of rounds, narrowly, but that's about it. Otherwise he was, frankly, outclassed. A real shocker.
it was one sided in the first 4 rounds. The last portion of the fight was pretty competitive. When the fight was stopped it was becoming more heated. That is NOT a knock on Ward who earned his W and was a notch above Kessler overall.
Besides the concussion periods where Ward got some shots in, it was very competitive. Perhaps even with Kessler in the lead. After all he won rounds on the judges scorecards while being concussioned. Take the rounds where he was blinded and buzzign from headbutts out and Kessler was winning. Perhaps.... the sad thing is that we didn't get to see what would happen in a boxing match. Kessler always steps up but being concussioned.. well..
Time for bed, Joe...Joe Calzaghe. Can you send me an autograph through the post? I'll PM you my address. Goodnight, champ.
Kessler was given a boxing lesson from bell to bell. Even more thoroughly than when Joe schooled him. Joe Calzaghe was the original author to "How to School a Danish Robot", but Ward took that edition and perfected it.
I thought Kessler took about 2 rounds max (I had it a shutout), but overall, it was very one sided imo...not terribly competitive at all.
When a poster makes an outlandish statement, such as Kessler vs Ward was competitive, it's so disrespectful to Ward's performance that I feel compelled to prove that you're very much in the minority.
Addie This guy is on crack !! the fight was not even close Ward beat the hell out of kessler not close at all, I guess thats what crack does to people...:yep
It's disgusting. He sits on his ass all day, and then discredits a masterful performance that Ward has worked very hard for...all because he's the son of Joe Calzaghe. Time to grow up Joe Junior, time to grow up.
I hope people don't think I'm trying to **** on Kessler. He's a good fighter, but this was Ward's night...and we need to set the record straight, and debunk any myths about this being remotely competitive.
