It was good because Barney Rubble isn't a champion any longer - but it's Wlad - Valuev the division needs.

I hope the Giant beats Chagaev in his next fight...

Bad fight, but look - instead of two different belt-holders we just have one.

From that point of view, definitely good for the division.

Sure it was a unification however the performances of both fighters I feel is a prime example of why the HW division gets such a bad rap......Two top level HWs square off in a unification fight only to stink the **** out of the place...Wlad clearly could've finished it but lacked the killer instinct, and confidence to do the job properly.....He easily could've given the fans their moneys worth

It was bad. You have 1st unification title in HW in almost a decade. You have two guys in there that were **** scared to fight. All they did is stare at each other and slap the jab down for 12 rounds. How is this good in the face of MMA providing exciting fights for its fans ?

And BTW it's all good: one title down!

If there is one thing last night taught us, it´s that there is no need for that many different titles in the heavyweight division. The talent pool is just not deep enough!

    :good

A somewhat unexciting fight, but that was still a dominating performance that reduced the number of titles, and started the unfication ball rolling.

And that is a very good thing, no matter how you want to spin it.

On the pessimistic side though, it really won't have won any new fans.
