Was Klitschko-Peter actually a decent fight or was it another Klitschko borefest?

Peter was initiating most of the clinching. It looked as if Wlad was deliberately trying to break his own clinching reflex in this fight - go for it and then immediately let his hands go only to see Peter continuing holding to his torso.

Overall, a very impressive showing by Wlad. Peter only landed like 3 flush punches in the entire fight.

Sound like I didn't miss a damn thing by not watching this fight per usual. I haven't sat through a Wlad fight since the Rahman shitest and I don't plan to anytime soon until he can fight someone with a decent set of balls who will actually fight back. Good luck trying to find one of those in this dreary hevavyweight division.

...Do you think maybe the fight had some AIDS? I mean, I would think that would excuse a lot of the clinching...which is a symptom of an AIDSy fight. But, I don't have to tell Dr. Ilesey, AIDS specialist, something like that. You know.

It was exactly how most people expected the fight to go. One sided with a late KO. Boring really but you cant blame Vlad for that, if your finding the heavyweight division boring then maybe Welterweights are what you should be watching.

You're quite right. I mean I flicked through and caught the last five minutes of ep. 323 when Bob Ross painted his usual albeit unique forest complete with stream. I was on the edge of my seat. He used titanium white to create an effect on the water as if there were actually....................wait for this.........waves! Moving columns of water creating splashy sounds and ****. It was a tearjerker.

it wasnt exciting by any stretch. yes wlad looked dominant, but vs samuel peter what would you expect?

it was a mandatory fight so you cant knock his choice of opponent.

wlad did however throw a variety of shots, left hooks, even a couple of cheeky uppercuts.

but it was pretty much this patter

jab, straight right, clinch... jab, straight right, clinch.

the stoppage was bs as well, peter took far too much of a beating that fight.

and to be fair, when you watch wlad fight, you know what you are getting. so no point people complaining it was boring.

In all fairness though after round 4 or so Peter was actually instigating most of the clinches, heck the last few rounds it was Wlad trying to push Peter of him.

Peter made the fight a lot dirtier and scrappier than it should have been, which is a shame because Wlad let his left hooks go like he did in his early career. He also threw a lot of uppercuts. Not nearly as much reliance on the jab as usual

Typicals Vlad fight to be honest. He's a cautious fighter with a safety first approach. That said he made Peter look like a rank amatuer. Im not entirely sure what Peter's strategy was but throwing lead left hooks against a guy like Vlad and then just falling into clinches was a pretty **** poor game plan. Peter was woefully out of his depth and just didnt have a clue. Apart from being a big solid heavy with heavy hands Peter is useless.
He needs a new trainer and some decent comeback fights to build his confidence if he wants to continue in boxing. The beatings he suffered from both brothers were pretty brutal. Slow and methodical. The type that sometimes you dont come back from.

This. Also for me it seemed Vlad changed his usual strategy - he used his jab less and actually tried to counterpunch  Peter. Also lots of leaping in left hooks were thrown.

By the same token, Peter has been mangled and embarrassed the last two times he fought anyone in the top 10, so this victory does nothing for me. He did what he was supposed too...only he didn't get the early knockout we were promised.
